  • Patent number: 12059196
Abstract: A surgical instrument includes a housing, a shaft extending distally from the housing, an end effector assembly at a distal end portion of the shaft, and a drive assembly. The drive assembly includes a movable handle, a carriage operably coupled to the movable handle, an inner drive operably coupled to the end effector assembly, and a spring assembly operably coupling the carriage and the inner drive. The spring assembly includes inner and outer coil springs arranged in a nested configuration. Initial actuation of the movable handle slides the carriage such that the spring assembly transfers the sliding of the carriage into translation of the inner drive to apply a jaw force by the end effector assembly. Subsequent actuation of the movable handle slides the carriage to compress the spring assembly to substantially maintain a position of the inner drive, thereby controlling the jaw force.

  • Patent number: 4522235
Abstract: A hose structure resistant to pressure and vacuum as well as kinking or collapsing which exhibits good recovery from crushing includes in its wall structure elastomer embedded reinforcing cords extending in opposite hand helical patterns about the hose axis and a filler layer of elastomeric material having a thickness from about one fifth to about one fifteenth of the mean radius of the filler layer from the hose axis. The filler layer elastomeric material is of high tensile modulus and hardness and preferably includes short length fibers dispersed throughout oriented predominantly generally in the circumferential direction of the hose.

  • Patent number: 4474217
Abstract: Hose structure suitable for transport of highly abrasive media including at least two concentric tube layers of elastomeric material. The radially innermost tube layer material is of greater abrasion resistance than a tube layer radially outwardly thereof. A radially outer tube layer material is of greater resilience than that of the radially innermost tube layer. The tube layers may be made visually distinguishable, for example, by being of different colors, so as to serve as a wear indicator.

  • Patent number: 4196252
Abstract: A woven fabric belt having a coating of polyurethane on each face and extending through the interstices of the fabric. The polyurethane is the reaction product of a polytetramethylene ether glycol of 4,4'-methylene di(cyclohexylene isocyanate) cured with m-phenylene diamine and having at least one face of said belt covered with the polyurethane having walnut shell powder incorporated therein.

  • Patent number: 4002791
Abstract: A woven fabric belt having a coating of polyurethane on each face and extending through the interstices of the fabric. The polyurethane is the reaction product of a polypropylene ether glycol of 4,4'-methylene di(cyclohexylene isocyanate) cured with p,p'-methylene dianiline and having at least one face of said belt covered with the polyurethane having walnut shell powder incorporated therein.
