  • Patent number: 6915155
Abstract: A medical testing system has an instrument for monitoring a characteristic of a patient and an illuminating component for illuminating the instrument. The instrument includes a component for selectively activating and deactivating the illuminating component and a deactivating component for automatically deactivating the illuminating component, after a predetermined period of time has elapsed.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 26, 2001
Date of Patent: July 5, 2005
Assignee: GE Medical Systems Information Technologies, Inc.

  • Patent number: 5056231
Abstract: In an automotive vehicle wheel alignment system, a rim clamp is attached onto the rim of a wheel and a head unit is connected to the rim clamp. The rim clamp includes a spindle having circumferential grooves. The head unit includes a spindle-receiving sleeve with a spring loaded plunger and a set screw adapted for being received by the grooves in the spindle. The set screw tightens the head unit on the spindle of the rim clamp. The spring loaded plunger and groove allow the head unit to rotate with respect to the wheel without loss of registration in the axial direction between the head unit and the wheel.

  • Patent number: 5014227
Abstract: A wheel alignment system measures caster and steering axis inclination (SAI) by positioning the wheels at a right turn position and a left turn position. Toe, camber and inclination angle measurements are made for both wheels at both the left turn position and the right turn position. Based upon these measurements, caster and SAI are calculated either directly or through an iterative technique.
