  • Publication number: 20150178920
Abstract: Social media databases are minded for data related to a subject person. The data in indicative of a level of ultraviolet light exposure of the subject person. An ultraviolet violet exposure profile for the subject person is generated based upon the data and a health assessment report provided. The data may include timestamped images of the subject person and other related persons. The skin characteristics within images are analysed to determine an ultraviolet light exposure level for the subject person from each image. The skin characteristics may include skin colour, freckling and blemishing. The ultraviolet light exposure profile may be developed over an extended interval based upon the image timestamps. The health report may be used to mitigate risks, such as skin cancer, associated with exposure to ultraviolet light.

  • Publication number: 20150180940
Abstract: A target space having configurable parameters may be defined such that nodes of a corresponding social network may be adapted to an elastic map of the target space. Communications may be directed to one or more nodes of the social network based on the computed elastic map.

  • Patent number: 8943361
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided for geospatial optimization for resilient power management equipment. A method includes predicting a power outage duration based on at least one of geographical data, location data, and historical data. The method further includes rendering a power management decision based on the predicted power outage duration and a remaining backup power duration.

  • Publication number: 20140189389
Abstract: A system configured to manage battery energy of a mobile device includes a primary mobile device and at least one peer device. The primary mobile device includes a power unit, a main communication module to electrically communicate with a peer device, and a peer assisted module in electrical communication with the power unit and the main communication module. The peer assisted module determines an energy level of the energy unit, and determines a task to be executed by the peer device. The peer device receives the task transmitted from the primary mobile device. The peer device further includes a peer process management module that executes at least one computation that completes the task, and communicates a completed task to the primary mobile device.
