    Abstract: A system and method of performing backups of a system having persistent and non-persistent virtual desktop infrastructure components, database storage components, and file management components. The method first backs up the file management components, then a database server of the database storage components, and then the virtual desktop infrastructure components in an order of a virtual center server, connection server, and then a composer server. If the virtual desktop environment is non-persistent, the system backs up a master image that is used to create non-persistent desktops, and if the virtual desktop environment is persistent, the system backs up the master image that is used to create non-persistent desktops and virtual storage objects that maintain persistence of an identity of the virtual desktop environment.

    Abstract: A ballast circuit uses an optocoupler to provide electrical isolation of the dimming control from the remainder of the ballast. The optocoupler is operated in the linear range to provide continuous dimming of the lamps. The circuit further uses a combination of diodes and a diode bridge to steer current from the current sensor during lamp out conditions so that the inverter will maintain operation at a low frequency, thereby maximizing the output voltage. A clamp winding is used to insure that the voltage does not exceed the DC rail voltage.

    Abstract: A bacteria-containing two component polymer gel is provided for solubilizing particulate or colloidal organic materials in wastewater. The gel contains a minor amount of a polymer component that is difficult to solubilize by bacteria in the gel and a major amount of a polymer component that is easier to solubilize by bacteria in the gel. The gel contains bacteria for solubilizing material in wastewater and for solubilizing the gel, and nutrients for the bacteria. The gel also contains a bacteria inhibitor such as sodium sulfide or sodium azide that can diffuse out of the gel at a gel-water interface to allow bacteria to dissolve the gel at the interface while preventing an interior region of the gel from prematurely dissolving. The gel is placed in a housing through which wastewater flows and contacts the gel.

The converter is supplied with a DC voltage from a switched-mode DC-DC supply of a pre-conditioner circuit which responds to a full-wave rectified AC voltage and which is supplied with pulse-width modulated gating pulses from the controller, preferably at a frequency which is the same as that of the converter. The controller monitors signals from the output circuit and pre-conditioner circuits and exercises control to reliable starting and highly efficient lamp operation and to obtain an in-phase proportional relationship of input voltage and current wave forms.

The method is particularly useful for solubilizing particulate and/or colloidal materials containing insoluble starch, grease, fat and protein with enzymes such as amylase, lipase and/or protease.
