  • Publication number: 20080020101
Abstract: An edible snack product comprises an undulating elongated body with a crenate cross-section and a composition that includes fruit material. When the snack product is composed entirely or substantially of fruit material, the snack product tends to be sticky and the undulating body and crenate cross-section serve to reduce the surface area of the snack product that would contact the surfaces of a wrapper, equipment and the consumer. By reducing the surface area contact, the tendency of the snack product to stick to the wrapper, equipment and the consumer is reduced.

A selector is included for selecting one chain from the two or more chains over which to data is to be sent. Another circuit comprises a chain of components serially connected by designated pins on each component, and two or more controllers, each controller capable of controlling the chain for one or more of the specific purposes. • Publication number: 20070211648
Abstract: Dynamic data path component configuration apparatus and methods are disclosed. A configuration of a data path link that is operatively coupled to a communication equipment data path is determined. A determination as to whether a configurable data path component, which is configurable to exchange data with the data path link and with another data path link, is configured compatibly with the determined configuration, is also made. If the configurable data path component is not configured compatibly with the determined configuration, then an operation to configure the configurable data path component is performed. The configuring operation could dynamically configure the data path component to increase or reduce data path speed, to bond multiple links, and/or to unbond multiple links, as electronic cards are installed or removed, for example. During the configuring operation, the configurable data path component is able to exchange data with other data path links and accordingly is non-service affecting.

  • Publication number: 20070211838
Abstract: Timing signal recovery and distribution apparatus and methods are disclosed. A timing synchronization source signal is selected from timing signals recovered by multiple communication devices. The timing signals may have any of multiple different frequencies. A timing distribution signal is generated by applying to the selected synchronization source signal one of multiple timing distribution signal generation schemes. The multiple generation schemes allow a timing distribution signal to be generated on the basis of synchronization source signals having respective different frequencies.

  • Publication number: 20050170062
Abstract: The present invention relates to methods for producing low fat spread emulsions stabilised with dairy proteins. The water phase is stabilised by heat denatured whey proteins at low calcium concentrations. After heat treatment pH of the water phase is adjusted to neutral or acid conditions. The present invention also relates to methods for producing a whey protein product that can be used as a stabilising food ingredient.

  • Publication number: 20040248799
Abstract: Compositions and methods effective for eliciting an immune response for inhibiting abnormal or undesirable cell proliferation, particularly endothelial cell proliferation and angiogenesis related to neovascularization and tumor growth are provided. The compositions comprise a naturally occurring or synthetic protein, peptide, or protein fragment containing all or an active portion of a growth factor in a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. The preferred growth factors comprise basic fibroblast growth factor and vascular endothelial growth factor. The methods involve administering to a human or animal the compositions described herein in a dosage sufficient to elicit an immune response. The methods are useful for treating diseases and processes mediated by undesired and uncontrolled cell proliferation, such as cancer, particularly where uncontrolled cell proliferation is influenced by the presence of growth factors.

  • Patent number: 6673828
Abstract: The invention provides new and useful analogs of 2-phthalimidinoglutaric acid. These analogs include DL-2-methyl-2-phthalimidinoglutaric acid and hydroxylated analogs of 2-phthalimidinoglutaric. The invention also provides processes for making these analogs. The invention also provides the two individual enantiomers of DL-2-methyl-2-phthalimidinoglutaric acid, (R)-(+)-2-methyl-2-phthalimidinoglutaric acid and (S)-(−)-2-methyl-2-phthalimidinoglutaric acid, and processes for separating these individual enantiomers from the racemate. Further, the invention provides methods for inhibiting angiogenesis and treating angiogenesis-associated diseases, including cancer and macular degeneration, by administering one or more of these compounds.

  • Patent number: 5800274
Abstract: A bowling alley bumper system includes a pair of elongated bumpers extending along the length of an alley for guarding the gutters of a bowling alley when the bumpers are in an extended or guarding position. Each of the bumpers also includes a string of lights within a clear plastic rail which is disposed along an upper portion of the bumper. A controller is provided for pulsing the lights along each of the bumpers to produce a "chase" or other visual effect. For example, the controller may be used to illuminate the first, fourth, seventh, etc. lights in a string, followed by the illumination of the second, fifth, eighth, etc., lights, and then the third, sixth, ninth, etc., lights to give the appearance of moving down the alley. A controller may also be used to regulate the illumination of the lights across adjacent alleys.
