  • Patent number: 11923469
Abstract: An optical solar enhancer comprises a panel that has a top surface and a bottom surface and an imaginary central plane that extends between the top surface and the bottom surface. The panel includes a plurality of generally parallel features configured to variably increase radiant energy entering the top surface at an acute angle relative to the central plane such that the effect is strongest at lower angles (early morning and late day sun) and weakest at higher angles (mid-day sun) and then redirect the increased radiant energy through the bottom surface.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: March 5, 2024
    Assignee: SEC Optics LLC

  • Publication number: 20210119151
Abstract: Light emitting electrochemical cell devices comprising chiral liquid crystalline materials. The chiral liquid crystalline material mixtures of the devices function as both electrolytes and as light emitting materials. The chiral liquid crystalline material mixtures also form photonic crystal structures creating a photonic stop band. The presence of the photonic stop band enables the light emitting electrochemical cell devices to emit light with improved energy efficiency.

  • Publication number: 20070041211
Abstract: A structure including an integrally formed diffuser may be formed by depositing a first layer including a first polymerizable material and another material, and depositing a second layer including a second polymerizable material adjacent the first layer. The first and second layers are simultaneously irradiated with light that causes the first polymerizable material and the second polymerizable material to polymerize. There is not an optical boundary between the first and second layers since the first and second materials are polymerized together.

  • Patent number: 6538813
Abstract: An avionics display includes a first predefined display area for high priority information and a second predefined display area for normal priority information. A viewing screen is disposed between the avionics display and a design eye point. A first portion of the viewing screen, corresponding to the high priority information, includes metallized tapered waveguides to direct light including the normal priority information at a limited vertical viewing angle and to direct light including the high priority information at an extended vertical viewing angle.
