Patent number: 11160146Abstract: A lighting system includes lighting fixtures and a lighting controller that sends commands and data over an AC power line to power and control the lighting fixtures. Lighting themes are uniquely programmable color and intensity that are applied to a collection of lighting groups to achieve different lighting modes instantly, without the delay that programming each lighting fixture individually incurs. The groups of lighting modules receive theme lighting information over the power line and store the theme information in memory. The lighting controller sends a single command to the collections of the lighting groups to apply the theme. Each lighting module retrieves and applies the theme information.Type: GrantFiled: December 20, 2019Date of Patent: October 26, 2021Assignee: Hunter Industries, Inc.Inventors: John Malaugh, Peter John Woytowitz

Patent number: 9678485Abstract: A landscape controller includes a housing and a control panel in the housing. The control panel includes a display and at least one manual control that enable a user to enter and/or select a watering schedule. A memory is provided for storing an operational program for carrying out the watering schedule. A processor is connected to the memory and is capable of executing the operational program. A connecting device in the control panel operatively connects at least one feature module to the processor. The controller further includes station control circuitry controlled by the processor that enables the processor to selectively energize a plurality of valves to deliver water to sprinklers in accordance with the watering schedule.Type: GrantFiled: December 7, 2012Date of Patent: June 13, 2017Assignee: HUNTER INDUSTRIES, INC.Inventors: John Malaugh, Peter J. Woytowitz

Patent number: 6985751Abstract: A power control system and method for a wireless telephone employs an open loop technique for relatively low power levels and a closed loop technique at higher power levels. In the open loop technique, a wireless telephone (104, 106, 108) stores a phasing table of automatic power control (APC) values for the power levels (which are used to control upconverter gain levels measured at different channels. In operation, a power controller (322) reads the power level and reads the APC value in the table. Another table stores the APC value for one power level as the channel and temperature are varied. This value is interpolated, as needed, during operation. The APC value for the open loop approach is determined by reading the input channel; finding the closest higher and closest lower channels in the temperature-channel table; interpolating between APC values for the temperature column of the closest lower temperature, to get the actual value.Type: GrantFiled: March 7, 2002Date of Patent: January 10, 2006Assignee: Siemens Communications, Inc.Inventors: Thomas Bartl, John Malaugh

Patent number: 5514165Abstract: An electrotherapy stimulation unit having a high voltage pulsed current (HVPC) electrotherapy stimulation device providing short duration low amperage high voltage constant charge HVPC pulses to a patient to reduce pain, and a neuromuscular stimulation (NMS) electrotherapy device providing constant current NMS pulses to a patient to re-educate and prevent atrophy of muscle tissue. The HVPC device has a voltage source and at least one HVPC output circuit having a coil, a switching device, and a holding capacitor. When the switching device is turned on, an increasing current is drawn through the coil. When the switching device is turned off, a voltage spike results across the coil, charging the holding capacitor. Thereafter, the charge dissipates into the patient. The HVPC device senses the voltage provided by the voltage source and calculates the period of time the switching device is turned on based upon the sensed voltage and the preselected peak voltage of the voltage spike.Type: GrantFiled: December 23, 1993Date of Patent: May 7, 1996Assignee: Jace Systems, Inc.Inventors: John Malaugh, George Telepko
