  • Publication number: 20240070646
Abstract: Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for generating a virtual card number (VCN) associated with a credit card having a primary account number (PAN). The algorithm used matches the last 4 digits of the VCN to the last 4 digits of the PAN. By matching the last 4 digits of the VCN to the PAN, customer confusion is avoided, and VCNs may be more widely deployed, reducing the number of PAN reissuances that occur. The implementation of this feature is possible using the specific technique disclosed herein that uses multiple, rotating bank identification numbers (BIN) to expand the universe of available PANs to scales that can support a working implementation. The approach further describes accepting both a PAN card verification value (CVV) and a VCN CVV to authorize transactions. The approach also allows the synchronizing of expiration dates between a VCN and a PAN to further ease the burden of administering VCNs.

  • Patent number: 9918322
Abstract: A radio resource management (RRM) system and method manages radio resources in a wireless network of radio access points (APs). In some embodiments, the channel and/or frequency of radios of the APs are managed based on a prioritization scheme of the radios. In some embodiments, the transmit powers of the radios are managed based on the prioritization scheme. The priorities of the radios is partially based on the priorities of clients connected to the radios. In some embodiments, the RRM system is a centralized controller system. In some embodiments, the RRM system forms a hierarchical network of child and parent nodes. The parent nodes are configured to manage the radios associated with the parent and its child nodes. The parent node with the smallest number of child nodes, which are associated with the selected radio and its neighboring radios, is managing these radios.

  • Publication number: 20080120508
Abstract: A platform (200) having a default password and a presently used password stored therein receives (101) data from a portable physical data carrier and extracts (102) information comprising a unique code and a count as correspond to the platform. When a comparison (104) of the code and the count with corresponding information in the platform is favorable, the platform then resets (106) the presently used password to the default password. To facilitate the provision of such a portable physical data carrier, upon detecting (301) a need to reset this presently assigned password at a remotely located platform to a default password, the aforesaid unique code and count are recovered (302, 303) and placed (305) on the portable physical data carrier along with an instruction regarding resetting of the presently used password. That portable physical data carrier can then be physically forwarded (306) to that platform to facilitate the foregoing steps.

  • Patent number: 5595801
Abstract: A shielding system for an enclosure wherein strips of shielding material including a layer of metal, for example, metal foil or gauge metal, are placed on the walls of the enclosure in an overlapping or abutting relationship, with shielding tape between the overlapped portions or overlying the butted seam. The shielding tape preferably consists of an electrically conductive nonwoven mat of entangled fibers which is laminated on one side to metal foil and which is bonded on the other side to the metal substrates using nonconductive adhesive. The entangled fibers penetrate the nonconductive adhesive and contact the surface of the metal substrate to provide an electrical continuity that seals the seam against leakage of electromagnetic radiation.
