  • Publication number: 20130208447
Abstract: Internal lighting for refrigerated display cabinets, chillers, cold rooms or freezers, has rearwardly-directed light assemblies incorporated in the rear faces of the vertical stiles (and/or top and bottom rails) of the door frames of the cabinet doors to illuminate the contents of the cabinets. The light assemblies may be provided in recesses, grooves or channels, and may comprise LED(s), lamps or lighting strips, connected to an electricity supply. Door switches can de-energise the light assemblies when the doors are open.

  • Patent number: 8408916
Abstract: A system for teaching plural, different, short-vowel sounds, in their intrinsic forms, in the context of associated short-vowel-sound words. The system incorporates, for each such sound, an associated pair of relatively rotatable, foreground and background word-fragment carriers—the former in each pair carrying but a single, first-category, readable, word-ending word fragment having within it the vowel whose sound is associated with the carrier pair, and the latter in each pair carrying a plurality of second-category, readable, word-beginning word fragments, each dedicated to working in teaching cooperation with the single word fragment carried on the associated foreground carrier to combine readably with that first-category word fragment to form a complete, short-vowel-sound word which is correctly pronounceable utilizing the associated short-vowel sound. All word-beginning word fragments end with the same, common consonant.

  • Publication number: 20120062080
Abstract: A mullion-less door system for refrigerated display cabinets, chillers, cold rooms or freezers, incorporates offset seal members on the respective vertical stiles of adjacent doors, to form a labyrinth seal or gasket between the doors, while still allowing free operation of each, and without requiring indirect sealing via door mullions of the cabinet body or frame. Secondary seal members, incorporating magnetic gaskets, seal the top and bottom rails of the peripheral door frames, supporting transparent door panes, to the adjacent cabinet body or frame portions. Lighting assemblies may be incorporated in the vertical stiles to illuminate the contents of the cabinets; and the hinge assemblies may incorporate self-closing mechanisms for the doors.

  • Patent number: 7865129
Abstract: An electronic early recognition and confirmation system generally in learner-useable book-form structure including (a) pages, each including at least one lesson-specific question, and for each such question an associated field containing a plurality of nominally undistinguished, learner-selectable, image-based answers among which there is at least one best answer, (b) with respect to each such question, an invitation to a learner to respond to that question by interacting in a defined way with any selected one of the relevant field-associated answers, and (c) power-ready, electronic, interaction-response structure embedded in the book-form structure, operable, when a learner interacts with a selected answer in the relevant field, to produce a light and/or sound correctness-confirming response of one style when the selected answer is the best answer, and a light and/or sound noncorrectness-announcing response of another style when the selected answer is another, incorrect answer.

  • Publication number: 20070105074
Abstract: An early-learning system and method wherein its systemic form features a manually learner-manipulable structure including (a) at least one pair of adjacent, operatively associated, relatively shiftable, learning-information carriers organized, with respect to one another, as dedicated foreground and background carriers having a defined condition of permitted, relative-shifting motion, and (b) visual, partial-learning-element units carried by each of these carriers, each unit which is carried by one of the carriers, through an act involving relative shifting of the two carriers, being combinable visually and selectively with at least one such unit which is carried by the other carrier, thus to form a visual, full-learning element.

  • Patent number: 4105621
Abstract: A polyamide composition comprising 30 to 74.95% of a normally flammable polyamide, from 15 to 55% of a reinforcing agent, preferably glass fibre, from 5 to 30% of a halogenated flame retardant together with a synergist for the flame retardant consisting of a mixture of 5 to 30% zinc borate and from 0.05 to 1.5% of an oxide selected from antimony, zinc, lead, ferrous, ferric, stannous, stannic and cadmium oxides or mixtures thereof, all percentages being by weight of the total weight of the composition.
