  • Patent number: 8386457
Abstract: A method for providing content-level data artifact recommendations can begin with the creation of a semantic library from the textual content of data artifacts by a newsworthy content recommendation engine. A base newsworthiness rating can be calculated using global newsworthiness parameters and behavioral functions that model newsworthy influences for each relationship contained in the semantic library. A user-specific search network can be generated that represents user-entered criteria and/or user task-related criteria. Within the semantic library, potential newsworthy semantic networks can be identified. Newsworthy content from each identified potential newsworthy semantic network can be dynamically determined based upon the base newsworthiness rating and a predefined newsworthiness threshold. The newsworthy content from the identified potential newsworthy semantic network can be related to the user-specific search network at the common node, creating a newsworthy content recommendation graph.

  • Publication number: 20120304059
Abstract: Various embodiments provide techniques for implementing interactive build instructions. In at least some embodiments, a user can interact with build instructions for a product via physical gestures that are detected by an input device, such as a camera. Interaction with the build instructions can enable navigation through an instruction guide for the product (e.g., through steps in a build process) and can present views of the product at various stages of assembly and from different visual perspectives. Further to one or more embodiments, a portion of a product (e.g., a component and/or a subassembly) can be scanned and a diagnostic message can be output that provides an explanation of a relationship between the portion and another portion of the product.

  • Patent number: 8244215
Abstract: A method and apparatus for communicating using a plurality of identities is disclosed. The method includes communicating on a mobile communications device using a first identity having an associated first content and communicating using a second identity having an associated second content. The apparatus includes a processor for communicating with a communications network using the first identity having the associated first content and using the second identity having the associated second content.

  • Publication number: 20110314084
Abstract: A system automatically and continuously finds and aggregates the most relevant and current information about the people and things that a user cares about. The information gathering is based on current context (e.g., where the user is, what the user is doing, what the user is saying/typing, etc.). The result of the context based information gathering is presented ubiquitously on user interfaces of any of the various physical devices operated by the user.

  • Patent number: 8050291
Abstract: A method and system for communicating an ultra-wideband signal carrying a combined digital signal that represents digital signals for multiple communication channels of a wireless communication system. A distributed antenna system includes multiple remote antenna entities. Each remote antenna entity may include an ultra-wideband transceiver for sending or receiving the ultra-wideband signal. The multiple remote antenna entities may be spaced apart within an indoor premises so as to extend cell coverage of a base transceiver station. The ultra-wideband signal may be transmitted in a forward-link direction towards one or more wireless communication devices or in a reverse-link direction towards the base transceiver station. An aggregator within a remote antenna entity may aggregate multiple combined digital signals so as to form an aggregated combined digital signal that may be transmitted in a reverse-link direction towards the base transceiver station.

  • Patent number: 7600159
Abstract: Systems and methods for providing notices related to diagnostic information are provided. Diagnostic information related to a monitored device is provided to database. When it is determined that the diagnostic information indicates that service-related information should be provided to a communication station, such information is transmitted to the communication station. This information can identify one or more service providers that can address issues related to the diagnostic information.

  • Patent number: 4450703
Abstract: A cold header or a screw machine preforms a rod end blank from rod stock. A female blank has a drilled and tapped rod portion and an undersized spherical head portion. A male blank has an unthreaded straight shank and an undersized spherical head portion. The rod portion is necked adjacent the head portion. The blank is placed on an indexing table which advances the blank through a series of processing stations. The head portion is heated for three seconds with an induction coil, rested for one second, and heated again for three seconds with an induction coil. The head portion is then flattened, shaped and enlarged in a closed die press. The head portion is quenched to room temperature. The head portion is punched in a die punch to remove the slug and flash.
