  • Publication number: 20220031905
Abstract: A desktop personal breathing space UV-C air sterilizer in which sterilized air from the top of the sterilizer is adjustably directed to the space from which an individual inhales, and in which ai exhaled by the individual air is mixed with air from the general area of the individual and drawn into the bottom of the UV-C air sterilizer across a horizontally disposed UV-C source, to provide a directional stream of sterilized air to the personal breathing space of the individual. Methods are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 10422488
Abstract: A module for manually converting a Harp System Lamp having single female Edison up-socket to a multi-function LED lighting system, the rapid conversion not requiring any modification of the wiring of the conventional lamp and not requiring the use of tools or any special skills, providing significantly more light for the same or less power, providing greater control over the amount and quality of light available, and preserving the aesthetics of the original lamp by retaining the original body, harp and shade. The module expands the area under the shade from which light may be emitted to include space radially outside the harp thus increasing the flexibility as to both the direction and the wavelengths of the light provided by the converted lamp. Methods of making the conversion are disclosed some of which do not require removal of the harp from the lamp being converted.

  • Patent number: 10378698
Abstract: An adaptor for manually converting a conventional portable lamp with a harp supported shade from (a) a single Edison up-socket adapted to receive an Edison-based, base-down, incandescent, compact florescent or LED light bulb to (b) a plural down-socket LED lighting system with materially increased task lighting, where the rapid conversion does not require the use of tools or any special skills, does not require any modification of the wiring of the conventional lamp, and does not change the aesthetics of the lamp. Methods of making the conversion are disclosed that do and do not require the removal of the harp during the conversion.

  • Publication number: 20070036696
Abstract: An air purifier illustrates the invention. The air purifier includes a housing having walls defining a lower chamber and an upper chamber, and ultraviolet C lamp in the lower chamber. Air flows through an air inlet through a wall into the lower chamber. A baffle is positioned between the air inlet and the lamp blocking direct passage of radiation from the lamp to the air inlet. A dividing wall in the housing separates the upper chamber from the lower chamber, and an opening in the dividing wall allows air to pass from the lower chamber to the upper chamber. Air exits through an air outlet from the upper chamber, with the dividing wall being positioned to block direct passage of radiation from the lamp to the outlet. A fan in the upper chamber draws air in the inlet, through the lower chamber, and the opening in the wall, and directs the air to the outlet.

  • Publication number: 20050069465
Abstract: The present invention provides an air treatment unit including a module power socket; an air treatment duct having an interior defining an air path; and an ultraviolet light module that selectively engages the air treatment duct, the ultraviolet light module including a housing having a baffle; an integral ultraviolet light source and light source socket, the ultraviolet light source being fixed to and extending through the baffle; and a connector that selectively mates with the module power socket, the connector being in power transmissive communication with the light source socket, wherein, when the ultraviolet light module selectively engages the air treatment duct and the connector selectively mates with the module power socket, the ultraviolet light module cannot be fully removed from its engagement with the air treatment duct without disconnecting the power.
