  • Publication number: 20240318162
Abstract: Methods of specifically capturing and processing nucleic acids from samples in a simplified, streamlined workflow. Media conditions and/or workflow improvements provided herein permit workflow steps such as cell lysis, nucleic acid denaturation, and target nucleic acid capture and immobilization to be performed in a “one-pot” reaction with minimal or no subsequent washing or rinsing steps prior to enzymatic processing. The media conditions include particular salt and/or detergent concentrations, and the workflow improvements include improved purification steps. The media conditions and workflow improvements effectively isolate target nucleic acid for downstream enzymatic processing reactions while avoiding levels of contaminants that inhibit such reactions.

  • Publication number: 20070050613
Abstract: Mobile clients can execute IPv6 applications in an IPv4 environment without the need for any specialized IPv6 hardware or upgrades to the network infrastructure. The architecture provides a seamless, disruption-free connectivity experience for mobile clients. Mobile clients are automatically connected to other mobile clients irrespective of their network connectively, whether wireless, wire line, IPv4, IPv6, public or private. Mobile clients communicate with other mobile clients using a secure, end-to-end IPv6 tunnel. This creates a persistent VPN connection between two clients using software.

  • Publication number: 20060272297
Abstract: Apparatus and method for drying the seal area (316) of a contact lens blister package (300) prior to affixing a lidstock to the seal area (316) includes a vacuum block (54) to which one or more vacuum heads (50) are removably mounted. The vacuum heads (50) include vacuum tips (52) which engage and circumscribe the seal area (316) removing moisture therefrom. Should a vacuum head (50) become damaged, it is quickly and easily replaceable upon the vacuum block (54).

  • Publication number: 20010046539
Abstract: A process for preparing shellfish for storage comprising the steps of vacuum packing live shellfish within a suitable container and then heating the shellfish to a temperature of between 80° C. and 110° C. and a pressure of between 0.8-2.0 kgf/cm2, said temperature and pressure level being sufficiently high to pasteurize the shellfish while preventing substantial expansion of the container yet sufficiently low so as to minimize vaporization of internal juices and preventing substantially all of the shellfish meat from becoming mushy, thereby maintaining substantially all of the natural juices of the shellfish within the shells and maintaining any inadvertently escaped juices to remain in association with the shellfish from which it originated and within said container, said container being suitable for freezing and transport so that both the shellfish and any inadvertent juices remain together during transport.
