  • Publication number: 20250302571
Abstract: A system that allows for the re-use of a sharps locked bin. The system comprises a bin for medical waste comprising a main body with a peripheral flange and a lid with an outer rim. When the bin is locked, a gap is located between an internal rim of the flange of the main body and the outer rim of the lid. The system also comprises bin opening apparatus comprising a base jig and a pillar drill which includes a plate orientated generally horizontally in use and pronged released members extending downwardly from the plate.

  • Patent number: 9811561
Abstract: A system and a method are disclosed for efficiently executing database queries using a computing device that includes a central processing unit (CPU) and a processing unit based on single instruction multiple thread (SIMT) architecture, for example, a GPU. A query engine determines a target processing unit to execute a database query based on factors including the type and amount of data processed by the query, the complexity of the query, and the current load on the processing units. An intermediate executable representation generator generates an intermediate executable representation for executing a query on a database virtual machine. If the query engine determines that the database query should be executed on an SIMT based processing unit, a native code generator generates native code from the intermediate executable representation. The native code is optimized for execution using a particular processing unit.

  • Publication number: 20120151006
Abstract: Techniques and technologies are presented for extending digital content sharing to server-located contacts. A mobile content relay device operating in a local network, such as a Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) network, is capable of communicating with remote network devices, such as computer devices or cellular telecommunication devices operating in a Wide Area Network (WAN). The mobile content relay device supports delivery of content from UPnP devices in the local network to virtual renderer devices in the WAN, and from content delivery devices in the WAN to renderer devices in the local network. The virtual renderer devices appear as server-maintained contacts to users of the UPnP devices, and the renderer devices in the local network appear as server-maintained contacts to users of the WAN-based content delivery devices.

  • Publication number: 20050289484
Abstract: A user can create a coil structure pattern on a display screen and annotate it with information such as comments, key values, and script fragments. Generating a coil structure pattern comprises receiving at least one pattern or sub-pattern, and assembling a layout comprising the pattern or sub-pattern. A parameter value, attribute, and/or metadata is provided to the pattern or sub-pattern disposed in the assembled layout, and a coil structure pattern is generated based on the layout and the parameter value, attribute, and/or metadata. The coil structure pattern may be stored in a storage device.

  • Publication number: 20050008048
Abstract: A circuit for generating a clock or sampling signal, the circuit including: a semiconductor quantum dot laser element including a region of quantum dots, wherein the region of quantum dots is characterized by an emission distribution having a half-width of at least about 10 meV; and drive circuitry connected to the quantum dot laser element for operating the quantum dot laser element as a mode-locked laser that outputs a periodic, uniformly spaced sequence of pulses, wherein the clock or sampling signal is derived from the sequence of pulses.
