  • Patent number: 10946257
Abstract: A golf accessory for determining a gimme putt distance is disclosed. The golf accessory comprises a handle with a trigger, a telescoping rod mounted to the trigger including a length adjustment configuration, a hinge mechanism mounted to the telescoping rod and a base mounted to the hinge mechanism. The hinge mechanism is configured to allow the telescoping rod to fall horizontally on a ground surface upon activation of the trigger to determine a gimme distance in a golf game. The gimme is determined as positive if the telescoping rod covers a ball marker on the ground surface. The gimme is determined as negative if the telescoping rod fails to cover a ball marker on the ground surface.

  • Patent number: 10564260
Abstract: A range finding system includes: an electromagnetic output to provide a first beam of electromagnetic radiation along a first beam path; an electromagnetic input to receive reflected electromagnetic radiation of the first beam from an object for determining a range of the range finding system from the object; and an enclosure including a side wall that surrounds a central axis of the enclosure, the side wall transparent to the electromagnetic radiation provided by the electromagnetic output. The electromagnetic output and electromagnetic input are disposed within the enclosure such that the electromagnetic input is located outside a second beam path of a second beam of electromagnetic radiation defined by a specular reflection of the first beam on the side wall. Since the electromagnetic input is located outside the second beam path, the specular reflection of the first beam off the side wall does not reach the electromagnetic input.

  • Patent number: 8622479
Abstract: A method and apparatus for horizon control in a mining operation where fresh product 3 is cut from a seam 1. The cutting exposes a fresh cut product face 25. The fresh cut product face 25 is observed at a position immediately adjacent a cutter 11. Any temperature contrast regions from an IR observation between an upper limit of observation and a lower limit of observation are noted. At least one height co-ordinate position of a temperature contrast region 33 is determined and an output signal provided of the determined height co-ordinate position so that the output signal can be used as a horizon datum for horizontal control.

  • Publication number: 20080033615
Abstract: A pulse active steering control system and method for use in a motor vehicle for improving vehicle stability by reducing a likelihood for rollover and/or skidding sends pulses to the steerable wheels whenever a rollover coefficient and/or the difference between the estimated and actual yaw rate is outside a predetermined range. The pulses are asymmetrical in the form of a smooth curve with a gradually increasing rapid rising edge and a slower falling edge and provide steering input that, along with the driver steering input, returns the rollover coefficient and/or yaw rate to the predetermined range to reduce the likelihood of rollover and/or skidding.

  • Patent number: 4036343
Abstract: The press brake safety device includes a vertically movable guard for moving in advance of the press brake ram, a lightweight protector bar movably positioned on the lower edge of the guard for vertical upward movement and means operably connecting an actuation means for the ram to the ram drive means to control ram actuation. Air operated means connect to these ram drive means to render the same inoperable, and air operated control means connect the protector bar and the air operated means to actuate such last named means when the protector bar is moved upwardly in relation to the guard as the guard is being moved downwardly by actuation of the press brake for work engaging action.
