  • Patent number: 7892803
Abstract: The invention relates generally to isolated leucoanthocyanidin reductase LAR polypeptides of the Reductase-Epimerase-Dehydrogenase (RED) protein family, and nucleic acid molecules encoding same and their use in regulating the biosynthesis and accumulation of proanthocyanidins in plants. The invention is further directed to isolated nucleic acid molecules of plants which encode leucoanthocyanidin reductases of the RED protein family. The isolated polypeptides and nucleic acid molecules of the present invention are useful for modifying the pasture quality of legumes, and, in particular, for producing bloat-safe forage crops. or crops having enhanced nutritional value, enhanced disease resistance or pest resistance, or enhanced malting qualities.

Assignee: Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation
Inventors: Gregory John Tanner, Anthony Richard Ashton, Sharon Abrahams, John McRae Watson, Philip John Larkin, Katarzyna Teresa Francki
  • Patent number: 7471197
Abstract: A security system comprising an attachment (1) for mounting on a wall top, having a first part (4) that is fixable to the wall and a second part (6) that is mounted for relative movement on said first part upon the application of a force thereto whereby movement of the second part generates a signal to activate a visual and/or audible alarm, the second part having at least one pair of opposing members (40a, 40b) for partially overlapping a side of the first part so as to retain the second part, the second part being sized so as to allow a limited range of movement with respect to said first part without its release therefrom.

  • Patent number: 6583791
Abstract: Apparatus for color correcting a display module is disclosed. The display module includes a plurality of light emitting elements such as LEDs. The LEDs typically include sources of nominally red, green and blue colors. The apparatus includes a device for activating a light emitting element to emit an uncorrected first color and a device for activating at least one further light emitting element which emits a color other than the first color, to produce a corrected first color. An array of corrected display modules and a method of correcting a color in a display module are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 5678842
Abstract: A collapsible cart for transporting a plurality of handled shopping bags and the like. The cart has an elongated frame having upper and lower sections which are pivotally coupled together. The frame is adjustable between a deployed position where the upper and lower frame sections are substantially aligned longitudinally and a collapsed position where the upper and lower frame sections are folded together. A pair of wheels are pivotally coupled to the lower section of the frame which fold together when the frame is collapsed. A support arm for suspending a load is pivotally coupled to the frame upper section and is moveable between a horizontal, load-supporting position and a folded position extending alongside the frame. The shopping bags are suspended from a plurality of hooks mounted on the support arm.

  • Patent number: 4562339
Abstract: A sensor assembly having senser fingers swingably mounted upon a rotatable support and resiliently biased to extend radially outward. In the three-finger embodiment, a detent assembly rotatable with the support detents the support through a 120 degree rotation when the nose of a signature engages the finger lying in the path of signature movement. A one-way clutch cooperates with the detent assembly to dampen movement of the fingers and cooperating rotatable support to prevent oscillation of the rotating members. The finger advanced to the detent position slides upon the adjacent surface of the last counted signature and is freely yieldable to prevent irregularities in the signature from causing an erroneous count.
