  • Patent number: 7083806
Abstract: The present invention relates to hydrogels, in particular gels for use on wounds. The invention provides a gel which is better able to maintain viscosity and gel integrity when exposed to wound exudates, for example. A hydrogel comprising a poloxamer is provided. Further provided is a hydrogel comprising a cross-linked gellant, and water wherein the hydrogel comprises a poloxamer and has the capacity to absorb at least 50% further water in addition to the water already present. Suitable gellants are pharmaceutically acceptable, cross-linked, hydrophilic polymers. Hydrogels of the present invention are useful in medicine, or therapy and are in particular useful in application to epithelial lesions, especially wounds, such as accidental or surgical wounds.

  • Publication number: 20040011259
Abstract: This is space saving, pivotal, transportable, work table/bench consisting of a more or less rectangular shaped top secured to a wall or other vertical support via the upper pivotal attachment point of the two individual connection devices, of which each have two pivotal attachment points allowing them to be equally spaced and attached toward opposite ends on one of the long sides of the of table/bench top utilizing the upper most pivotal connection point while the linear top piece of the a-frame type support leg sets are attached to the bottom or lower pivotal connection points, thus allowing the supports to be pivoted to a horizontal position for use while the table/bench top is pivoted to a vertically or stored position, the supports can then pivoted to a horizontal position enabling the table/bench top to rest on them for use at that location or the table/bench top and/or the supports can separated from the pivotal connection and taken individually or as a unit to another location for use then upon complet

  • Patent number: 5008081
Abstract: Computer-controlled method and apparatus for automatic melt index testing, including a housing with a base carrying a heater block having a bore therein for receiving a metal cartridge. A cartridge carousel is rotatably carried on the base, and carries a plurality of such cartridges, each cartridge having a plug at the bottom end thereof with a orifice through the plug, and each cartridge having a bore therein for receiving a sample of a test substance and for receiving a piston on top of the pellets. A lift arm grasps the cartridges, one at a time, and places each cartridge into the heater block, under the control of a microcomputer, by both lifting and rotating the transfer arm. The transfer arm includes a solenoid-operated grip for grasping the cartridges. The test unit carries a lift mechanism with a weight mounted atop a tamping rod, and an optical sensor for determining the height of the weight relative to the lift machinism.

  • Patent number: 3987527
Abstract: A mechanism employed for cutting and stripping a plurality of wires simultaneously by means of a single lever which is moved in a first direction to cut the plurality of wires and in a second direction to strip a length of insulation from the cut wires. The mechanism includes a base support and a carriage pivotally mounted thereto. The carriage supports the wire knife and anvil, the stripper knives, a cam arrangement for actuating the wire knife and stripper knives and the control lever. An automatic lock is provided which prevents the carriage from pivotting to strip the wires when the cutting operation is being performed and also prevents return of the wire knife and stripper knife when the stripping operation is being carried out. The mechanism is employed in this embodiment with wire positioning and clamping means. An assembly is used to stress the clamping means to insure the retention of the wires held therein.
