  • Patent number: 10327054
Abstract: An extendable speaker system is provided with a base and lid that are connected via a plurality of concentric collapsible hollow bodies such as cylinders. A woofer speaker resides in the base. Mid range or tweeter speakers reside in the lid. The lid is displaced away from the base to expand the speaker system, where the extended cylinders provide an airtight seal between the base and lid forming a woofer speaker enclosure therein. Friction seals between the cylinders, a spring residing within the speaker enclosure, and the airtight speaker enclosure itself provide a collective force sufficient to maintain the speaker system in an extended configuration. A port is opened by depressing a button to vent the enclosure to allow for the speaker system to be collapsed. A locking system is provided to releasably maintain the speaker system in a collapsed configuration.

  • Patent number: 7826808
Abstract: A system for an omni digital package for reducing interference may include a passive combiner and a transmit signal canceller. The passive combiner may be configured to combine at least two input frequencies to produce a combined signal. The transmit signal canceller may be configured to determine an interference frequency based on a combination of the at least two input frequencies. The transmit signal canceller may include a tap weight determiner configured to determine a weighting coefficient associated with the interference frequency, and a cancellation function configured to perform a cancellation operation to at least partially cancel the interference frequency from the combined signal based on the weighting coefficient.

  • Patent number: 7630989
Abstract: The invention relates to a computer-based method of and system for matching a set of transaction instructions received from a submitting entity with a record data set of receiving entity. The record data set includes a plurality of account records and an associated match key data set comprising a plurality of match keys, wherein each match key identifies an associated account record. The method comprises searching the match key data set using a match key derived from a received funds transfer instruction to identify an account record in said record data set thereby automatically matching said instruction to said identified record. The submitting entity selects a particular unmatched record of said data set, thereby manually matching said instruction to said selected record.

  • Patent number: 7090943
Abstract: A technique includes providing power to a group fuel cell system components and providing sensors to monitor conditions of the fuel cell system. The status of each sensor is associated with a switch, and the switches are serially coupled together. The delivery of power to the fuel cell system components is regulated in response to states of the switches.

  • Patent number: 5105003
Abstract: A process for the separation of a compound comprising a 1,2-dihydroxycyclohexa-3,5-diene ring from a medium containing it in which the compound reacts with a phenylboronate ion to form a phenylboronate ester which is insoluble in the medium. Novel phenylboronate esters formed during the separation process are also claimed.

  • Patent number: 4778190
Abstract: A ski attachment for pivotal attachment to the axle or transverse rod-like member of a wheeled vehicle which comprises at least one ski having an elongated runner with an upturned front tip, an upstanding pedestal mounting on said elongated runner behind said front tip, said pedestal having an upper distal end with a transverse recess or like means formed therein for pivotally receiving said transverse axle or rod-like member of the vehicle, said pedestal and ski having a total height greater than the radius of the vehicle wheel, and tension biasing means interconnecting the front tip of the ski to the vehicle above the axle for urging the front end of the ski upwardly relative to the vehicle whereby the mounting of obstacles during forward travel of the vehicle is facilitated. In a preferred aspect, the ski attachment of the invention comprises a pair of skis, with means for securing the skis together in spaced side-by-side relationship.

  • Patent number: 4050311
Abstract: A hand held all-visibility (no stethoscope required) blood pressure measuring instrument comprising a manifold, a combination blood pressure and systolic-diastolic points indicating direct reading gauge physically and funtionally connected to the manifold, a squeeze bulb physically and functionally connected to the manifold and forming the hand grip for holding the instrument and having a stiffening member connected to the manifold and extending through the interior of the bulb to prevent bending distortion of the bulb and resultant waver of the gauge, and a short stroke, quick action press type air release valve physically and functionally connected to the manifold in a position where it can be completely operated solely by very short strokes of the thumb of the holding hand (either right or left) while the hand is in a completely normal position and the gauge is in a fully readable position while being held steady and still.

  • Patent number: 4010844
Abstract: A bulk material handling conveyor comprising an overhead conveyor which supports containers in the form of magazines for the material. Each magazine has a filling opening surrounded by a gasket, and a movable closure for the filling opening which in closed position covers the filling opening and coacts with the gasket to tightly seal the magazine against leakage from within and without. A filling spout is located adjacent the path of travel of the magazines and comprises a fixed section and a movable section. The fixed section is suitably supported and the movable section has means for moving it from a position where it is out of the way of the movable closure to a position where it tightly contacts said gasket and covers said filling opening to completely prevent any escape of material and dust during the filling operation. A vent is associated with the filling spout to allow air to escape from the magazine during filling.

  • Patent number: 3999391
Abstract: A tie-back anchor and the method for use thereof in connection with shoring systems wherein support for upstanding shoring components is provided by a plurality of tension cables or tendons placed outwardly of an excavation into undisturbed earth structures. A hollow tubular element having outwardly extending discontinuous helix formed flight elements is augered into place. A plurality of load transfer pins or bolts extend inwardly within the tube structure to positions of potential interference with the tension cables and the longitudinally separated bushings locked on separate cables. After placement of the tube structure and loose cables, a high strength grout is introduced into the tube whereby subsequent tension loadings on the cables and bushings is transmitted by the grout to the interfering load transfer pins, the tube structure, the helix flights thereof and the supporting earth structure.

  • Patent number: 3934710
Abstract: A material handling conveyor comprising an overhead conveyor which supports containers or magazines for the material. The magazines have top and bottom openings and a closure for each which includes a closure mechanism having a movable lever. The first part of the movement of said lever effects the closing of the magazine and the last part of the movement of said lever clamps the closure down tight on the magazine to provide a leakproof seal. The entire area of the magazine which is in contact with the material being carried is made of an inert substance such as stainless steel or a plastic which is supported by a frame made of a stronger substance which also carries the full weight of the magazine and the material being in the magazine, thereby relieving the inert substance part of the magazine from carrying the load which enables that part to be made of lighter construction.
