  • Publication number: 20150271846
Abstract: A radio access node (22) which communicates over a radio interface (24) with a first wireless terminal (261). The radio access node (22) generates a device-to-device (D2D) grant (54) which specifies radio resources that the first wireless terminal (261) is permitted to use for device-to-device (D2D) communication with a second wireless terminal (second wireless terminal 262). The radio access node (22) transmits the subframe (S) including the D2D grant (54) to the first wireless terminal (261). The first wireless terminal (261) transmits data (56) to the second wireless terminal using radio resources permitted by the D2D grant. In an example embodiment and mode the D2D grant is included in a downlink control channel such as PDCCH; in another example embodiment and mode the D2D grant is included in a downlink shared channel (PDSCH).

  • Publication number: 20150244446
Abstract: A wireless communication device may autonomously transition from a multiple antenna port mode to a single antenna port mode. The wireless communication device may implicitly notify a base station about the autonomous transition from the multiple antenna port mode to the single antenna port mode. The base station may reallocate resources that were previously allocated to the wireless communication device but that are no longer being used by the wireless communication device. In some cases, the base station may configure the wireless communication device's antenna port mode via radio resource control signaling.

  • Publication number: 20150043399
Abstract: A user equipment (UE) for reporting information is described. The UE includes a processor and instructions stored in memory that is in electronic communication with the processor. The UE selects a reference cell having a reference uplink-downlink (UL-DL) configuration. The UE also selects a first uplink subframe from the reference cell. The UE further selects a first subframe set from a first cell having a first UL-DL configuration. The first UL-DL configuration is different than the reference UL-DL configuration. The UE additionally determines a first set of associations between the first subframe set and the first uplink subframe. The UE further aggregates information corresponding to the reference cell and information corresponding to the first cell based on the first set of associations to produce aggregated information. The UE also reports the aggregated information on an uplink reporting cell.

  • Publication number: 20150023228
Abstract: A User Equipment (UE) for performing carrier aggregation is described. The UE includes a processor and instructions stored in memory that is in electronic communication with the processor. The UE determines a duplex method of each serving cell for frequency-division duplexing (FDD) and time-division duplexing (TDD) carrier aggregation. At least one serving cell is a TDD cell and at least one serving cell is a FDD cell. The UE also determines physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request Acknowledgement/Negative Acknowledgement (HARQ-ACK) transmission timing for a serving cell. When a primary cell is a TDD cell, the PDSCH HARQ-ACK transmission timing for the serving cell is determined based on a downlink (DL) association set for the serving cell. The UE further sends PDSCH HARQ-ACK information based on the PDSCH HARQ-ACK transmission timing.

  • Patent number: 8806288
Abstract: A method of encoding that uses standard codecs such as linear encoders and decoders for encoding and decoding data with different levels of robustness to errors is described. In one configuration, multiple encoders may be utilized, and one of the encoders may use a standard encoder such as a turbo code followed by a nonlinearity that creates an unequal distribution of ones and zeros in a binary representation of the code. In another configuration, a coder may be utilized that represents message outputs as “channels” that create state transitions (or symbol errors) in a data forward error correction coder.
