  • Publication number: 20020062961
Abstract: A hydrocarbon containing formation may be treated using an in situ thermal process. A mixture of hydrocarbons, H2, and/or other formation fluids may be produced from the formation. Heat may be applied to the formation to raise a temperature of a portion of the formation to a synthesis gas production temperature. A synthesis gas generating fluid may be introduced into the portion. Synthesis gas may be produced from the formation. Synthesis gas may be used as a feed stream in an ammonia synthesis process. Ammonia may be used as a feed stream in a urea synthesis process.
    Type: Application
    Filed: April 24, 2001
    Publication date: May 30, 2002
Inventors: Harold J. Vinegar, Scott Lee Wellington, Ilya Emil Berchenko, Ajay Madhav Madgavkar, John Michael Ward, Robert Van Martijn Hardeveld
