The method includes displaying to a user of a web browser one or more items from a first web domain; receiving a selection of a first item and adding the first item to a cross-domain tracking system; receiving an input and determining that the received input indicates that the user intends to navigate to a second web domain; and displaying a message that indicates that, if the user navigates to the second web domain, the first item will be maintained available to the user by the cross-domain tracking system after the user navigates to the second web domain.
