Abstract: Devices and methods for removing an obstruction from a blood vessel are described. The devices are deployed in a collapsed condition and are then expanded within the body. The devices are then manipulated to engage and remove the obstruction.

Abstract: A speaker impedance may be determined by monitoring a voltage and/or current of the speaker. The calculated impedance may be used to determine whether the mobile device containing the speaker is on- or off-ear. The impedance determination may be assisted by applying a test tone low level signal to the speaker. The test tone may be inaudible to the user, but used to determine an impedance of the speaker at the frequency of the test tone. The impedance at that test tone may be used to determine whether a resonance frequency of the speaker is at a frequency corresponding to an on- or off-ear condition. The measured speaker impedance may be provided as feedback to an adaptive noise cancellation (ANC) algorithm to adjust the output at the speaker. For example, when the mobile device is removed from the user's ear, the ANC algorithm may be disabled.

Abstract: A Retrograde Entry Antegrade Placement (REAP™) method and apparatus facilitate the antegrade (i.e., in the direction of blood flow) placement of endovascular devices for treatment of lower extremity arterial disease. Initially, a retrograde entry is made into the arterial system of a patient at an entry point with a curved needle, which then exits at an exit point proximal to the entry point, with a first wire then passed through the lumen of the curved needle. From the skin exit point, a Dual-Lumen Access Director (DAD) device is advanced in the antegrade direction down the first wire in a first lumen and enters the CFA lumen. A second wire is passed down a second lumen in the DAD device and follows the SFA lumen in the antegrade direction. The DAD device is removed, and a standard dilator sheath is inserted over the second wire and the endovascular treatment begins.

Abstract: Coupling between a user's ear and a speaker of a mobile device may be determined by measuring an impedance of the speaker. When the user presses the mobile device against the user's ear, the speaker impedance changes as a result of loading in the speaker's acoustic radiation impedance. The speaker impedance change may be correlated with the force applied by the user to the mobile device. The measured speaker impedance may be provided as feedback to an adaptive noise cancellation (ANC) algorithm to adjust the output at the speaker. For example, when the mobile device is removed from the user's ear, the ANC algorithm may be muted.

Abstract: A game system is disclosed that enables users to play games on their respective devices while viewing associated information on a separate screen, such as that of a movie theater. One of the methods includes maintaining, by a system running a game server associated with an electronic game, communications with one or more user devices each running a game client associated with the electronic game. The communications include client game information from each user device that identifies user interactions with the respective game client. Display data that includes a projection view to be provided for presentation on a display, separate from the user devices, is generated to be viewed by the users of the user devices. The display data is generated by a camera game client, controlled by the system, from a location in a game world of the electronic game. The projection view is presented on the display.

Abstract: A game system is disclosed that enables users to play a multi-user game on their respective user devices while viewing a projection view on a separate screen, such as a movie theater screen. The projection view may be generated by a game control system by running game client that controls a special character in the game. The special character acts as a camera, generating a view that can be used as, or included in, the projection view. The game control system may control the position of the special character in a game world to generate views of selected game events.

The local minimum reduces the loss which may be caused by high negative incidence on to the blade.

Abstract: An improved piston ring for use as an intermediate piston ring in a piston assembly having three or more piston rings is provided. The piston ring includes a piston ring body which extends through an arcuate shape between opposite end faces. The piston ring body has at least one combustion gas guidance feature for allowing a greater flow of combustion gasses to pass the piston ring body when the piston is moving in one direction and for allowing a lesser flow of combustion gasses to pass the piston ring body when the piston is moving in an opposite direction. This allows for the ring gap at the outer diameter of the piston ring to be minimized without creating flutter in another piston ring above the intermediate piston ring during operation of an engine.

Abstract: A translationally maneuverable trailer jack track system includes a frame having dual opposing inwardly facing elongated slotted sides. The frame is adapted to mount to a trailer frame between a ball coupler and a trailer. A carriage is mounted inside the frame with opposing side elements, each opposing side element bears on and is movably disposed within one of the dual opposing elongated slotted side elements, where the carriage has a centrally located jack collar and at least one threaded receiving element. A drive screw traverses the frame lengthwise and is threaded through the carriage threaded receiving element, where the drive screw is constrained on one end by a fastening device and has a drive cap on the other end.

Abstract: An adaptive noise canceling (ANC) circuit adaptively generates an anti-noise signal from a reference microphone signal that is injected into the speaker or other transducer output to cause cancellation of ambient audio sounds. An error microphone proximate the speaker provides an error signal. A secondary path estimating adaptive filter estimates the electro-acoustical path from the noise canceling circuit through the transducer so that source audio can be removed from the error signal. Tones in the source audio, such as remote ringtones, present in downlink audio during initiation of a telephone call, are detected by a tone detector using accumulated tone persistence and non-silence hangover counting, and adaptation of the secondary path estimating adaptive filter is halted to prevent adapting to the tones. Adaptation of the adaptive filters is then sequenced so any disruption of the secondary path adaptive filter response is removed before allowing the anti-noise generating filter to adapt.

Abstract: A method for computing a correction to a compass heading for a portable device worn or carried by a user is described. The method involves determining a heading for the device based on a compass reading, collecting data from one or more sensors, determining if the device is indoors or outdoors based on the collected data, and correcting the heading based on the determination of whether the device is indoors or outdoors.

Abstract: A multi-mode ring scanner (MMRS) has a ring unit for wearing on a finger. The MMRS optionally has a wrist unit coupled to the ring unit, such as via a cable. The MMRS optionally communicates wirelessly with a computing device. The ring unit has one or more scanners (such as an optical scanner or an RFID tag reader). The ring unit optionally has two paddle switches for activation by inward pressure from fingers adjacent to the finger. The two switches enable specifying operation of the MMRS in a plurality of modes and/or to communicate a plurality of information codes to the computing device. The computing device is optionally enabled to assign a function to each combination of activation of the two switches. A scanning system including the MMRS optionally provides feedback to a user based on feedback from a host processor.

Embodiments further include determining whether any of the referenced objects is stale based on the version information, where the particular object is not updated if any of the referenced objects is stale. More specific embodiments include updating the particular object if none of the referenced objects is stale. In yet further embodiments, determining a referenced object is stale is based on a comparison of a version identifier of the referenced object and a version identifier of an object in the shared database that corresponds to the referenced object.
