  • Patent number: 11741766
Abstract: A garage door is controlled to open using an audio/video (A/V) recording and communication device. The device detects a vehicle within an area about the garage door and receives, using a camera, image data representative of an object associated with the vehicle. The device also compares the image data representative of the object associated with the vehicle with previously stored image data and identifies the object based on the comparing of the image data representative of the object with the previously stored image data. The device also authenticates an electronic device within the vehicle that is associated with the object by wirelessly communicating with the electronic device and determines, based at least in part on the authenticating of the electronic device within the vehicle, that the vehicle is an authorized vehicle. The device also transmits an actuation command to the garage door to cause the garage door to open.

  • Patent number: 11736665
Abstract: A network-connected security device is communicatively coupled to an audio/video (A/V) recording and communication device having a camera and a speaker. A method receives video data captured by the camera, and performs an object recognition algorithm upon the received video data to identify an object therein. The method performs a table lookup using the identified object, into a data structure that associates objects with at least one description of a predefined voice message. The method selects a description of a predefined voice message associated with the identified object, and transmits the selected description's predefined voice message to the A/V recording and communication device for output through the speaker.

  • Patent number: 11532219
Abstract: Parcel theft deterrence for audio/video (A/V) recording and communication devices, such as video doorbells and security cameras. When an A/V recording and communication device captures image data that includes a parcel, a parcel boundary may be created for monitoring the parcel within. In various embodiments, when the parcel is removed from the parcel boundary, a user alert may be generated to notify a user of a client device associated with the A/V recording and communication device that the parcel has been removed.

  • Publication number: 20220268919
Abstract: This disclosure describes, in part, techniques for generating location information of an object along with a video that depicts the object. For instance, an electronic device may include a radar sensor that determines locations of the object. The electronic device may then store radar data representing at least the locations. Additionally, based on detecting an event, the electronic device may begin to generate image data representing the video. The electronic device may then analyze the radar data and the image data in order to determine that the object detected by the radar sensor includes the same object represented by the image data. As such, the electronic device may send the radar data and the image data to one or more computing devices. This way, a user device is able to display both the video depicting the object as well as the location information representing the motion of the object.

  • Publication number: 20220272303
Abstract: This disclosure describes, in part, techniques for displaying location information of an object along with a video depicting the object. For instance, an electronic device may use a radar sensor to generate radar data representing the locations and an imaging device to generate image data representing the video. A user device may then use the image data to display the video. Additionally, the user device may display a map of a geographic area that includes the electronic device over a portion of the video. The electronic device then uses the radar data to determine positions on the map that corresponds to the locations. Using the positions, the electronic device displays interface elements representing the locations of the object. In some circumstances, the interface elements include different characteristics, such as colors, indicating a direction of motion of the object.

  • Patent number: 11423762
Abstract: This application is directed to techniques and processes for notifying a user about power levels of electronic devices. For example, a first electronic device may receive data representing the power level of a second electronic device. The first electronic device may then determine that the power level is below a threshold power level. After the determination, the first electronic device may detect a user and/or a client device located within a threshold distance to the first electronic device and/or the second electronic device. The first electronic device may then send data to the second electronic device, wherein the data includes a command to emit light according to a pattern indicating that the power level is below the threshold power level. Additionally, the first electronic device may send a message to the client device, where the message indicates that the power level is below the threshold power level.

  • Patent number: 11302156
Abstract: This application is directed to user interfaces for displaying information associated with electronic devices. For instance, a client device may receive a request to open an application. The client device may then receive, from a network device, image data generated by one or more electronic devices. Using the image data, the client device may display one or more images represented by the image data on a user interface, where an individual image is associated with a respective electronic device. After a time period has elapsed, the client device may receive, from the network device, additional image data generated by the one or more electronic devices, where the additional image data represents one or more updated images. The client device may then display the one or more updated images, instead of the one or more images, using the user interface.

  • Patent number: 11138867
Abstract: A wireless speaker device configured for use with a wireless A/V recording and communication device, such as a doorbell. The wireless speaker device, which includes a speaker, may connect to the user's local area network (LAN), such as a Wi-Fi network. The LAN is connected to a wide area network (WAN), such as the Internet and/or a public switched telephone network (PSTN). When the wireless A/V recording and communication device detects a visitor, it sends a first signal, via the LAN, to device backend server in the WAN. In response, the back-end server in the WAN transmits a second signal, via the LAN, to the wireless speaker device. The second signal to the wireless speaker device includes a command for the wireless speaker device to emit a tone through its speaker. The wireless speaker device then emits a tone through its speaker to alert the user that a visitor is at the wireless A/V recording and communication device.

  • Patent number: 10999505
Abstract: An audio/video (A/V) recording and communication doorbell, including a camera, a speaker, a microphone, a power manager, a battery, an AC/DC rectifier, and a DC/DC converter. The doorbell is configured for connection to an external AC power source through the AC/DC rectifier and the DC/DC converter. The power manager is configured to draw power, up to a threshold power, from the AC power source and to draw supplemental power from the battery such that the power drawn from the AC power source never exceeds the threshold power. The present A/V recording and communication doorbell can thus be connected to an existing household AC power supply and an existing doorbell signaling device without causing inadvertent sounding of the signaling device.

  • Patent number: 10943442
Abstract: The application describes customized notifications based at least in part on device characteristics. For example, a client device may identify information for populating an audio tone list associated with an electronic device, wherein the information includes a type of electronic device, a name of the electronic device; and/or a setting of the electronic device. The client device may then display audio tones that are based at least in part on the information. While displaying the audio tones, the client device may receive input selecting at least one of the audio tones to be associated with the electronic device. The client device may then receive a message indicating that the electronic device detected an object. Based at least in part on the message, the client device may output sound represented by an audio tone of the at least one audio tone.
