Abstract: A process for preparing an agglomerate of aspartame and a carrier comprises the steps of: (a) providing a premix slurry, comprising aspartame and a binding agent; (b) fluidizing a carrier; and (c) applying the premix slurry of step (a) onto said fluidized carrier to form an agglomerate of said aspartame and said carrier. The invention is also directed to the novel agglomerates prepared by the process of this invention. This invention is also directed to tabletop sweeteners, powdered soft drink mixes and sweetener blends having the above-described agglomerates.
