Abstract: An electrical connector includes a connector body and an electrical terminal. The connector body has a terminal-receiving cavity formed therein. The cavity is defined in part by a wall. A locking member extends from the wall into the cavity. A flexible beam extends into the cavity opposite the wall. A cantilevered terminal stabilizing member extends from the flexible beam into the cavity. When the terminal is received in the cavity so that the flexible beam abuts the terminal biasing the terminal towards the wall and the locking member engages the terminal preventing the terminal from backing out of the cavity through the opening, the terminal stabilizing member abuts the terminal resisting rotational movement of the terminal within the cavity.

Abstract: A strap with rotatably mounted clip fabricated in a single molding operation. The strap includes a strap retention member and a plurality of teeth. The rotatable clip includes a clip member, a pedestal and a head. The pedestal is retained in a pedestal opening formed through the strap. In fabrication, a top mold insert is slid into a top of first and second mold halves and a bottom mold insert is slid into a bottom of the first and second mold halves. Plastic is then injected into the first and second mold halves to independently and separately form the strap and the clip in a single molding process, wherein the inserts provide a space between the pedestal opening and the pedestal to allow the clip to rotate relative to the strap.

Abstract: An electrical connector assembly has a male connector which mates to a female connector thereby electrically engaging male terminal blades, locked to a male connector body, to female terminals locked to a female connector body. The blade of each male terminal project into a blind bore defined by a shroud of the male connector body. Prior to mating of the electrical connector assembly, a retractable terminal blade stabilizer is snap fitted into a blade alignment position with the male connector via a dual fastening feature constructed and arranged between the male connector body and the stabilizer, which prevents withdrawal of the stabilizer from the male connector and restricts further insertion of the stabilizer into the blind bore. When the stabilizer is in the blade alignment position, the tips of the blades are disposed within respective apertures of the stabilizer and aligned to their respective female terminals and the remaining portion of the blades are shielded and thus protected from possible damage.
