  • Publication number: 20200063445
Abstract: A method of protecting an outdoor surface includes providing an outdoor surface and providing a single flexible vinyl membrane having a polyvinyl chloride upper layer with a thickness of from 0.02 inches to 0.06 inches and a polyethylene terephthalate nonwoven fabric lower layer having a weight of from 2 ounces/yard2 to 6 ounces/yard2. The single flexible vinyl membrane is installed by covering the outdoor surface with the single flexible vinyl membrane and affixing the single flexible vinyl membrane to the outdoor surface, and the single flexible vinyl membrane is installable onto the outdoor surface by a single individual. In some cases, the single flexible vinyl membrane is not installed by hot air welding. The single flexible vinyl membrane may further be trimmed to a shape similar to, or like the shape of the outdoor surface.

  • Publication number: 20060095108
Abstract: A medical device for use on the human eye is described. The device is placed in an extrocular location in a patient and delivers an electrical current that stimulates the retina of patients who are blind or have vision disorders. It has at least one electrode that makes contact with the scleral surface of the eye, the electrode typically being activated by an electrical stimulator. The device produces electrical pulses which pass through the electrodes on the scleral surface of the eye, to activate the retina of the eye, which causes the patient to experience improved vision, visual sensations or the prevention of deterioration of vision. By this means, sight can be restored or improved where patients have disorders of their retina or other parts of their visual system.

  • Publication number: 20050182167
Abstract: A synthetic fire-resistant resin includes one or more of a polycarbonate resin material, and/or a polyester resin material mixed with a flame-retardant, such as a bis-diphenyldiphosphate flame-retardant. Alternatively, a mixture of polycarbonate resin material mixed with polyester resin material can be capped with a fire-resistant film. The resin sheet can be made at a thickness such that the resin sheet is structurally useful as a conventional building material. Furthermore the resin sheet can be made transparent, translucent, or colored, as desired for architectural purposes. The resin sheet further has a Vicat temperature that renders the extruded resin sheet easy to work with using conventional manufacturing techniques, and strong enough to be used in a wide variety of indoor and outdoor environments. In one implementation, fire-resistant resin sheets can be combined with a decorative image layer to form a decorative panel that can be used in Class A building environments.
