  • Patent number: 5988469
Abstract: A holder for retaining an item, particularly a turkey call, other game call, clipboard, pad or the like on the limb of a user while leaving his or her hands free. The holder includes a base having a hollow center. Rubber feet are arranged about the hollow center to support the item. The item is held against the rubber feet by an elastic band. A nylon web strap, provided with a snap buckle, is used to secure the holder to the user's limb. A belt attached tether may be provided to assist in retaining the holder on a limb (e.g., the thigh) of the user.

  • Patent number: 5607091
Abstract: A universal holder for retaining various configurations of game calls affixed to a limb of a hunter includes a platform provided with a circular aperture within which similarly configured game calls may be nested. The game call is retained in this manner by an elastic member having no less than one stretch bridging the aperture and when thus retained, its bottom sound emanating surface is maintained in a position elevated from a user's limb by legs depending from the platform. An adjustable, flexible body attaching member serves to secure the retained game call relative the user's limb. Non-circular or elongated box-type game calls are retained atop the platform by the same elastic member but wherein the stretch is passed beneath the platform with a portion thereof displaced upwardly through the aperture to releasably engage a catch element on the game call.

  • Patent number: 5513622
Abstract: A fastening device including a plug section that is readily manipulated to quickly engage and disengage a socket section. The plug section is provided with a forwardmost elongated plug that is insertable into a bore in the socket section. Guidance and locking together of the two sections or components is achieved through a pin which extends radially from the elongated plug and which is received by a multi-directional slot arrangement associated with the socket section. Short of achieving a fully assembled condition, an axially disposed, compressible member may extend from the face end of the elongated plug to engage a stop or an end wall within the bore of the socket section and thereafter produce a constant biasing force that in addition to assuring a rigid rattle-free attachment and maintain the components in a locked position.

  • Patent number: 5160148
Abstract: A broadhead arrowhead includes an elongated ferrule to which are removably attachable a plurality of separate blade members. Each blade comprises an enlarged main portion preferably exhibiting a sharpened outer edge, and a longitudinally extending mounting flange portion. The latter is offset from the former by a fixed angular amount and this offset corresponds to the angular disposition between any two adjacent ones of a plurality of radial slots formed in the ferrule. All of the slots communicate with a central, axial passageway within the ferrule and which extends through its tip. Attachment of the blades is accomplished by sliding each blade rearwardly through the ferrule leading end, with the apex of the angularly offset blade portions passing into the ferrule axial passageway as the two blade portions slide into two separate, adjacent ferrule slots.

  • Patent number: 5094464
Abstract: A bowfishing arrow includes a nock assembly that is readily manipulated to allow for the quick removal and re-attachment to the rear end of the same or another arrow shaft. The nock assembly is provided with a forwardmost elongated plug insertable within a socket or bore within the rear of the arrow shaft while guidance and locking together of the components is achieved through a radial pin on the nock assembly plug engageable within a multi-directional slot arrangement. Short of achieving a fully assembled condition, a compressible member is engaged and thereafter produces a constant biasing force that in addition to assuring a rigid, rattle-free attachment, also maintains the components in a locked position. Removal of the nock assembly requires a positive forward displacement of the nock assembly relative the arrow shaft against the force of the compressible member prior to a compound angular and axial movement between the components.

  • Patent number: 4742637
Abstract: A fishing arrowhead is disclosed for application to a bow and arrow, spear, gig or other fishing implement. The head has a U-shaped retaining barb which can be pivoted from a shooting position in which the barbs lie substantially in a plane passing through the longitudinal center line of the fishing implement and extending rearwardly from the tip of the implement to a fish holding position in which the barbs extend substantially at right angles to the longitudinal axis of the implement. The bight portion of the U-shaped retaining barb is rotatably secured in a bore which extends transversely through a cylindrical adapter which is secured to the fishing implement. The retaining barb is locked against pivotable motion beyond the desired holding position by the tip of the implement which is threaded onto the adapter.

  • Patent number: 4643435
Abstract: An arrow for hunting includes a razor-type arrowhead comprising two crossed blades removably insertable within a pair of crossed slots in the forward portion of either a tubular or solid shaft. The forward point of the shaft itself is formed with a reduced diameter threaded tip communicating at its rear with a larger diameter stop shoulder. With the arrowhead fully seated within the shaft slots, a forward shoulder thereon is substantially flush with the shaft stop shoulder such that the subsequent application of an internally threaded point member to the shaft tip, secures the arrowhead against both radial and axial displacement relative the shaft.

  • Patent number: 4621817
Abstract: An archery arrow includes an arrowhead removably attachable to a shaft with an alignment member disposed therebetween. The alignment member comprises a washer-like element having opposite faces disposed in divergent planes. By rotating the alignment member prior to tightening the arrowhead to the shaft, the axial disposition of the arrowhead relative the shaft may be altered to obtain a balanced arrow free of any wobble when spin tested about the point of the arrowhead.

  • Patent number: 4558868
Abstract: Arrowhead capable of being converted, by interchange of head elements, from an archery head to any selected one of various types of hunting heads. Comprises an elongated main body having an axially extending space and a plurality of longitudinal slots, both the slots and the axially extending space opening through the same end of the body, the slots also opening laterally both outwardly and into the axially extending space so that a blade assembly can be inserted into the main body via the slots and the axially extending space. The body also includes a stop surface, which may be a blind end of the axially extending space or a blind end of each slot or both, against which the blade assembly is clamped axially by a closure member which is releasably secured to the end of the main body through which the slots open.

  • Patent number: 4304070
Abstract: An emergency air vent structure actuated by smoke, gas or oxygen deficiency sensors to permit the influx of fresh air to an enclosure. The emergency air vent structure is characterized by a spring-actuated panel which is released by means of a rocker arm and latch actuated by a solenoid which solenoid is operated by any one of a number of detectors such as smoke, gas or oxygen deficiency. Upon opening of the panel, an alarm is sounded giving an audible warning of the unsafe conditions within the building.
