Patent number: 11882421Abstract: An integrated cinema amplifier comprises a power supply stage that distributes power over a plurality of channels for rendering immersive audio content in a surround sound listening environment. The amplifier automatically detects maximum and net power availability and requirements based on audio content by decoding audio metadata and dynamically adjusts gains to each channel or sets of channels based on content and operational/environmental conditions. A power supply stage provides power to drive a plurality of channels corresponding to speaker feeds to a plurality of speakers. The amplifier has a front panel having an LED array with each LED associated with a respective channel or group of channels of the multi-channel amplifier, and a control unit configured to light the LEDs according to display patterns based on operating status or error conditions of the amplifier.Type: GrantFiled: March 2, 2023Date of Patent: January 23, 2024Assignee: Dolby Laboratories Licensing CorporationInventors: Andrew Healy, Edward John Neary, Erich Hubert Vogel, Andrew Michael Poulain, Gregory J. Long, Joel A. Butler, Angela Williams, Luca Revelli, Dossym Nurmukhanov, Tanner James Cook, Marcelo Traverso M., Kenneth Schindler

Patent number: 8838262Abstract: Embodiments are described for a synchronization and switchover mechanism for an adaptive audio system in which multi-channel (e.g., surround sound) audio is provided along with object-based adaptive audio content. A synchronization signal is embedded in the multi-channel audio stream and contains a track identifier and frame count for the adaptive audio stream to play out. The track identifier and frame count of a received adaptive audio frame is compared to the track identifier and frame count contained in the synchronization signal. If either the track identifier or frame count does not match the synchronization signal, a switchover process fades out the adaptive audio track and fades in the multi-channel audio track. The system plays the multi-channel audio track until the synchronization signal track identifier and frame count and adaptive audio track identifier and frame count match, at which point the adaptive audio content will be faded back in.Type: GrantFiled: June 27, 2012Date of Patent: September 16, 2014Assignee: Dolby Laboratories Licensing CorporationInventors: Sripal S. Mehta, Sergio Martinez, Ethan A. Grossman, Brad Thayer, Dean Bullock, John Neary

Patent number: 8186314Abstract: The invention provides to a cooling system and a method of cooling an engine-driven generator. The engine-driven generator includes an engine, a current generator, and a housing. The engine includes an engine air intake, and the current generator includes a generator air intake. The housing includes a first outlet, a second outlet, a first air passageway, and a second air passageway. The first air passageway is in communication with the second air passageway. The second air passageway partitions air into a first stream supplied to the engine air intake and a second stream supplied to the generator air intake. The first stream exits through the first outlet, and the second stream exits through the second outlet.Type: GrantFiled: November 20, 2008Date of Patent: May 29, 2012Assignee: Briggs & Stratton CorporationInventors: Brian Todd Brunelli, Christopher Joseph Drew, George John Neary, John Richard Schneiker
