    Abstract: A device for locating ferrous objects that are visually obscured by a non-magnetic surface material and for temporarily magnetically holding a ferrous fastener in position to be affixed including at least on magnet having sufficient strength to attract and locate the ferrous object to be detected, hold the weight of the device onto the non-magnetic surface and the strength to hold at least one fastener to be affixed in an affixing position with the affixing position being at least ΒΌ? away from the magnetic center of the magnet and directly vertically above or below the magnetic center.
