  • Patent number: 8763291
Abstract: Support devices and graphic display systems in which the graphic display material is supported by a support device that is rollable with the flexible graphic display material, eliminating the need for traditional frames or stands. The support devices include a thin-walled elongate body having a length extending between first and second ends and having first and second side edges extending along the length of the elongate body. The side edges include at least one recess or protrusion for selectively locking the side edges together to selectively orient the elongate body in an elongate tube-shaped configuration when the side edges are selectively locked together. The thin-walled elongate body is sufficiently flexible so that when the side edges are disengaged from each other the elongate body can be rolled along its length into a tube-shaped configuration for storage.

  • Publication number: 20140110954
Abstract: A lock consists of an elongated track which is attached to the panel of a door. A slider runs in the track from a retracted position in which the slider is spaced apart from the knob which operates the deadbolt to an engaged position in which the slider is in contact with the knob and prevents it from turning. The slider can be locked in that position by means of a locking pin. The pin may also be used to immobilizes the slider in the retracted position.

  • Publication number: 20110277361
Abstract: A device includes a light transmitting film defining a lightguide region. A first region is defined within the lightguide region representing a region of one or more of an indicia, a graphic, and an image that is visible by light extraction when illuminated by light propagating within the film in a waveguide condition, wherein the first region includes a plurality of light extraction features that redirect a portion of light traveling within the film in a waveguide condition out of a first face of the opposing faces of the film in the first region, and the first region has a luminance less than 50 cd/m2 when illuminated with 1000 lux of diffuse light when disposed on an opening of a light trap box comprising a plurality of walls and a black, light absorbing material lining the plurality of walls. A method of making or producing a device is also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20110273906
Abstract: A reflective display includes a reflective spatial light modulator and a frontlight. The frontlight includes a lightguide formed from a film. The lightguide includes an array of coupling lightguides continuous with a lightguide region of the lightguide. One or more light sources emit light into the array of coupling lightguides. Light from each coupling lightguide combines and totally internally reflects within the lightguide region. Light extraction features frustrate totally internally reflect light within the lightguide region such that the light exits the lightguide toward the reflective spatial light modulator in a light emitting region of the film. A cladding region is optically coupled to the lightguide so light from the light source propagates into the cladding region. A light extracting region is operatively coupled to the cladding region opposite the lightguide, and light in the cladding region is extracted. A method of producing a display is also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20110273901
Abstract: A film sheet having a series of strips extending from an edge may have the film strips gathered and folded into a stacked array wherein the strips are in parallel abutment. The collected ends of the stacked strips are then suitable for receiving light for transmission into (and emission from) the body of the film sheet. A pair of frame members, when urged toward each other about the strips, may automatically collect and fold the strips into a parallel spaced array. This array may then be gathered by hand, or by a cover member translating adjacent the frame members, to generate the stacked array of parallel abutting strips. The resulting illumination device is particularly useful for illumination of display panels such as liquid crystal displays, organic light-emitting diode displays, or simply signs formed of paper, plastic, and/or other materials.

  • Publication number: 20110255303
Abstract: A light emitting device includes a film lightguide. The lightguide includes a lightguide region and an array of coupling lightguides continuous with the lightguide region, each terminating in a bounding edge and folded such that the bounding edges define a light input surface. A light source emits light into the light input surface. Light propagates within each coupling lightguide to the lightguide region, with light from each coupling lightguide combining with light from one or more other coupling lightguides and totally internally reflecting within the lightguide region. One or more light extraction features frustrate the totally internally reflected light such that light exits the lightguide in a light emitting region. Surface relief features on a surface of a low contact area cover are adjacent to a region of the lightguide with one or more of the surface relief features contacting the lightguide. A method of producing a device is disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20100075730
Abstract: An electronic video gaming machine device utilizing a bill acceptor or coin acceptor designed so that a player may make a wager to gain higher awards or prescribed pay-outs if numbers come out in the prescribed pattern displayed on the pay table according to the pay-out schedule. The device has a total of thirteen laid down rules of numbers of which there are thirteen odd numbers and thirteen even numbers. The numbers are also marked with colors. The colors are thirteen red numbers, thirteen black numbers, thirteen blue numbers and thirteen green numbers. The player makes a wager to play a row of five numbers. After wagering of coin or credits, the device will present five numbers in a prescribed portion of the display screen. The player selects the numbers that will be kept by pressing the corresponding “HOLD BUTTON”. A repeated press of the same “HOLD BUTTON” will release the hold and the number will be replaced when the display button is pushed.

  • Publication number: 20070222159
Abstract: A seal and coupling, wherein the seal has a thin profile including a primary sealing element that provides both a face and radial seal, and a secondary or backup sealing element that provides a face seal. The secondary or backup sealing element seals against leakage past or through the primary sealing element, and the retainer may be made of a fluid impervious material for blocking permeation of fluid from the primary to the secondary seal. The retainer may also function to prevent over-compression of the sealing elements, while also maintaining a radial spacing between the sealing elements.

  • Patent number: 6542792
Abstract: A vehicle rollover sensing apparatus and method are provided for detecting an overturn condition of the vehicle. The rollover sensing apparatus includes an angular rate sensor for sensing attitude rate of change of a vehicle and producing an output signal indicative thereof. The rollover sensing apparatus also has an integrator for integrating the sensed attitude rate of change signal over a variable time window and producing an attitude angle. The rollover sensing apparatus further includes deployment logic for comparing the attitude angle and attitude rate of change to a pair of variable threshold values, with a gray-zone that varies based on time, and an output for deploying a vehicle overturn condition signal based on the comparison. Adaptive bias removal and output minimum logic reduces bias and noise associated with the sensed signal.
