    Abstract: A solar radiation concentrator comprises a balloon formed of two concentric flat disc shaped flexible sheets of Mylar type plastics material, each disc having on the inwardly facing surface thereof a plurality of concentric radially separated reflective belts with the belts on one disc being staggered relative to those on the other and positioned so that when the balloon is inflated parallel light from the sun can pass through the interbelt regions on one disc to the belts on the other disc and be reflected back to the belts on the one disc and reflected from the latter through the inter-belt regions on the other disc to a common focus.
