  • Patent number: 4656795
Abstract: A floor panel for use in elevated floor assemblies, having a unique flexible edge construction including a relatively thin, flexible strip extending around the entire perimeter of the panel and projecting laterally outwardly from contiguous side and end faces of the panel. Plural panels supported on spaced pedestals are disposed in side-by-side relation with adjacent side and end faces spaced from each other but with adjacent flexible strips in edge-overlapped relation.

  • Patent number: 4656798
Abstract: A closure member for an electrical activating assembly of the type to be installed in an electrical wire distributing floor structure. The closure member has an access port assembly supported for movement between an open position wherein wires may egress from the closure member, and a closed position. The access port assembly incorporates a resilient filler strip formed from heat resistant material. The filler strip is pre-slit to provide effective sealing around egressing wires independent of the diameter of the wire.

  • Patent number: 4289921
Abstract: An electrical activating assembly provides a flush-with-the-surface electrical receptacle. The assembly includes a closure member providing access to a simplex or duplex receptacle supported by a support plate substantially flush with a barrier upper surface. The closure member includes a perimeter bead extending upwardly from the member upper face to provide a cover socket. A cover fitting within the cover socket is pivotally and removably connected to the perimeter bead for access to the receptacle. An alternative closure member is disclosed for use with a high voltage simplex receptacle. A cover fits within the cover socket, is secured to the receptacle, and includes an access opening exposing the outlet.

  • Patent number: 4232493
Abstract: A floor structure comprising a metal subfloor including metal cellular units providing plural enclosed cells; housings associated with certain of the cells, each adapted to provide future access to different electrical services at one location in the floor structure; a covering layer of monolithic concrete covering the subfloor and the housing, and a layer of fireproofing material covering the lower face of the metal subfloor. Activating means is provided establishing access to the enclosed cells through the housing without significantly reducing the desired fire endurance of the floor structure and without increasing the thickness of the layer of fireproofing material. The fireproofing material has a thickness which is less than that required to provide the floor structure with a desired fire endurance when the housing is activated. A method is disclosed for establishing acess to the enclosed cells through the insert while maintaining the fire endurance capability of the floor structure.
