Publication number: 20220100636Abstract: A computing resource services provider receives user diagnostics comprising analysis operations to be performed on one or more computing resources. The computing resource services provider monitors resources indicated by the user diagnostics. When one or more computing resources exceed a threshold value or otherwise indicate abnormalities in computing resource usage, the computing resource services provider performs one or more analysis operations to determine one or more causes for increased computing resource usage. Results of the one or more analysis operations are presented to a user once the computing resource services provider completes the one or more analysis operations.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 29, 2020Publication date: March 31, 2022Inventors: Sudeeptha Mysore Jothiprakash, John O'Shea

Patent number: 11003690Abstract: An aggregator system obtains a first set of measurements from a logical partition of a computing resource monitoring service. The aggregator system aggregates this first set of measurements with a second set of measurements obtained from a storage resource. Using these measurements, the aggregator system generates a data segment that corresponds to a time interval of both the first set of measurements and the second set of measurements. The aggregator system stores this data segment in the storage resource and updates an index to indicate the location in the storage resource where the data segment is stored.Type: GrantFiled: October 23, 2015Date of Patent: May 11, 2021Assignee: Amazon Technologies, Inc.Inventor: John O'Shea

Patent number: 10749766Abstract: A computing resource monitoring service receives a request to store a measurement for a metric associated with a computing resource. The computing resource monitoring service determines an identifier for the measurement and, using the identifier, selects a logical partition for storage of the measurement. The computing resource monitoring service creates a measurement storage job that is added to a priority queue, specifying the location of the logical partition and an archival storage resource where the measurement is to be stored. This enables an aggregator system to obtain the measurement storage job and fulfill the request by storing the measurement within the archival storage resource.Type: GrantFiled: October 23, 2015Date of Patent: August 18, 2020Assignee: Amazon Technologies, Inc.Inventor: John O'Shea

Patent number: 8645623Abstract: A data storage system having protocol controller for converting packets between PCIE format used by a storage processor and Rapid IO format used by a packet switching network. The controller includes a PCIE end point for transferring atomic operation (DSA) requests, a data pipe section having a plurality of data pipes for passing user data; and a message engine section for passing messages among the plurality of storage processors. An acceleration path controller bypasses a DSA buffer in the absence of congestion on the network. Packets fed to the PCIE end point include an address portion having code indicating an atomic operation. An encoder converts the code from a PCIE format into the same atomic operation in SRIO format. Each one of a plurality of CPUs is adapted to perform a second DSA request during execution of a first DSA request.Type: GrantFiled: June 28, 2007Date of Patent: February 4, 2014Assignee: EMC CorporationInventors: John O'Shea, Jeffrey Kinne, Michael Sgrosso, Steven T. McClure, Yechiel Yochai

Patent number: 8156220Abstract: A method is provided for transmitting user data from a selected one of a plurality of data pipes. The method includes having a ring manager select one of the data pipes from a pool of the data pipes for transmission of the user data. The data is transmitted from the selected one of the data pipes at least one packet switching network. The data pipe detects whether there was an error in the transmission. If there an error detected, the data pipe generates an error interrupt for the ring manager. The ring manager detects the error interrupt and generates an error interrupt for a CPU. The ring manager removes the selected one of the data pipes from the pool of data pipes for a predetermined period of time while the ring manager continues to work on other tasks until the time has expired. During pipe retirement, the physical pipe removed from the pool of pipes is disabled and the router will then direct orphan packets to the error ring.Type: GrantFiled: September 28, 2007Date of Patent: April 10, 2012Assignee: EMC CorporationInventors: John O'Shea, Jeffrey Kinne, Michael Sgrosso, William F. Patent number: 7388149Abstract: A coupling is provided for corrugated conduits. The coupling is formed unitarily from a resin material and has first and second coupling halves that are joined unitarily along a living hinged. The halves can be rotated about the living hinge from an open position to a closed position. Ends of corrugated conduits can be engaged between the coupling halves when the coupling halves are in the closed position. Publication number: 20050271668Abstract: An isolated polynucleotide encodes JAK-3 protein. JAK-3 protein is a protein tyrosine kinase having a molecular weight of approximately 125 kDa which has tandem non-identical catalytic domains, lacks SH2 or SH3 domains, and is expressed in NK cells and stimulated or transformed T cells, but not in resting T cells. The protein itself and antibodies to this protein are also presented. Further, methods of identifying therapeutic agents for modulating the immune system make use of the foregoing.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 1, 2005Publication date: December 8, 2005Inventors: John O'Shea, Warren Leonard, James Johnston, Sarah Russell, Daniel McVicar, Masaru Kawamura
