Abstract: A planting bag in the form of a tube constructed from a flexible material and having a pair of sealed ends is advantageously provided with indicia which facilitates opening of a portion of the tube to form an opening bordered by a liquid retaining lip. One of the ends of the tube forms an endless member which may be severed from the bag and arranged around the tube at the opening therein for retaining the tube in a predetermined shape. In this manner, the packaging for soil, mulch, growing material, and the like, may be employed for the planting and growing of plants, with the interior of the bag capable of holding water, liquid fertilizer, and the like.

Abstract: A new and distinct gladiolus cultivar, designated ‘Rosiebee Red’, is shown and described. Compared to the ‘Advance’ variety, the ‘Rosiebee Red’ cultivar has a larger bloom size, about one to two fewer flowers per spike, and is able to maintain on the spike about four to five more flowers in open bloom.

Abstract: A new and distinct gladiolus variety of plant, designated ‘Alexandra The Great’, is shown and described. Compared to the ‘T-200’ variety, the ‘Alexandra The Great’ variety is 30 cm taller and will maintain two to three more flowers in open bloom. The variety is also able to maintain up to ten flowers in open bloom simultaneously, beginning with a tight cut stem.

Abstract: A new and destinct gladiolus variety, designated ‘Siberia’, is shown and described. Compared to the ‘T-200’ variety, the ‘Siberia’ variety is 25 cm taller and will maintain one to two more flowers in open bloom. The ‘Siberia’ variety is also able to maintain up to six to seven flowers in open bloom simultaneously, beginning with a tight cut stem.

Abstract: A new and distinct gladiolus cultivar, designated ‘Georgia Peach’, shown and described. Compared to the Dr. Magee variety, the ‘Georgia Peach’ cultivar produced four to five more flowers per stem, is six to eight inches taller, and will maintain three to four more flowers in open bloom. The ‘Georgia Peach’ cultivar is able to maintain up to seven to eight flowers in open bloom simultaneously, beginning with a tight cut stem.

Abstract: A new and distinct gladiolus variety, designated ‘Princess Lee’ is shown and described. The variety has straight, strong stems, a large bloom size, slow to open, and has good resistance to attack by insects and foliar diseases.

Abstract: A new and distinct gladiolus variety, designated ‘Festiva’, is shown and described. Compared to the ‘Jennie Lee’ parent variety, ‘Festiva’ has a similar bloom diameter, produces stems having the same length, but produces one to two less florets per stem.

Abstract: A new and distinct gladiolus variety, designated ‘Prissy's Purple’, is shown and described. The variety is characterized by having a heavy stem that is about 128 cm in length and containing 20-22 florets when grown from Jumbo size corms in Ecuador. One arrangement of the variety consists of six petals, namely three large petals, two medium petals, and one small petal. In another arrangement, the bloom consists of two large petals, three medium petals, and one small petal. The corolla bloom is characterized by having purple specks (Purple Group N78A) deep within the throat. The color of the bloom tight is Red Purple Group 72B, and the color of the bloom in open perfect condition is Purple Group N78C.

Abstract: A new and distinct gladiolus variety, designated ‘Euro Blanca’, is shown and described. The variety is characterized as having a long flower head, high number of florets and a heavy stem. The color of the bloom tight is Green White Group 157A, of the bloom open perfect condition is Greyed White Group 156D, and open going down is Greyed White Group 156C.

Abstract: A new and distinct gladiolus variety, designated ‘Golden Goddess’, is shown and described. Compared to the ‘Goldfield’ variety, the ‘Golden Goddess’ variety can also maintain six flowers in open bloom simultaneously in a water after harvest. The claimed variety differs from ‘Goldfield’ in that the ‘Goldfield’ variety produces stems that are 10 cm shorter with one to two less florets per stem.

Abstract: A new and distinct gladiolus variety, designated ‘Magic Lavender’, is shown and described. Compared to the ‘T-704’ variety, the ‘Magic Lavender’ variety produces spikes that are 8 cm taller and a head length that is 3 cm longer. The bloom of the variety comprises three large purple colored petals, two medium-sized purple colored petals, and one small white petal having a splash of purple fanning up the center of the petal.

Abstract: A new and distinct gladiolus variety, designated ‘White Knight’, is shown and described. The variety has a light green color (Yellow Green Group 145D) deep within the throat, followed by a pure white color throughout the rest of the petals (White Group 155D). The variety can maintain six to seven florets in open bloom simultaneously in a vase of water and is an excellent opener after transport.
