Patent number: 11796466Abstract: Contained herein is a system and method for using non-contact diffuse optical skin reflectance method to obtain remote sensing of in-vivo glucose levels in biological tissue or fluids. One embodiment uses an optical, non-contact method capable of measuring glucose levels at a stand-off distance of 0.5 to 2 meters. In this method, the tissue is illuminated with a collimated beam of near-infrared (optical) band of light having a specific band of wavelengths. The diffuse reflectance measured from the tissue/fluid is collected while varying the optical circuit. Using the collected data, an algorithm to unravel the mixed effects of tissue/fluid scattering and absorption is applied to determine the absorption level of the light, which is then associated with a quantitative glucose level.Type: GrantFiled: July 13, 2021Date of Patent: October 24, 2023Assignee: The Board of Regents for the Oklahoma Agricultural and Mechanical CollegesInventors: Sabit Ekin, Daqing Piao, John O'Hara

Patent number: 11790936Abstract: Methods and systems for detecting marine mammals. Acoustic data can be received from one or more hydrophones. The acoustic data can be sampled, and the sampled acoustic data can be transformed to time-frequency image data. The image data can be processed to transform the data for input to a model. The model can be trained to detect the presence or absence of marine mammal vocalizations in the acoustic data. The model can output a prediction of whether or not a mammal is present.Type: GrantFiled: June 23, 2022Date of Patent: October 17, 2023Assignee: RPS Group, Inc.Inventors: David John O'Hara, Patrick Rath

Publication number: 20230313647Abstract: A method to dynamically control fluid flow in a multi-well system includes receiving first fluid flow data indicative of fluid flow at a first node of a plurality of nodes, each node being a node along a well of a plurality of wells of a multi-well system, receiving second fluid flow data indicative of fluid flow at a second node of the plurality of nodes, analyzing the first fluid flow data and the second fluid flow data, determining an impact on fluid flow at the second node due to fluid flow at the first node, and determining, based on the impact, whether to adjust fluid flow at a node of the plurality of nodes. In response to a determination to adjust fluid flow at the node, the method further includes determining an adjustment to the fluid flow at the node; and requesting a fluid control device to make the adjustment.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 31, 2022Publication date: October 5, 2023Inventors: Clifford ALLEN, Andrew PENNO, Alejandro Javier CHACON, John O'HARA

Publication number: 20210275882Abstract: The putter head is symmetrical in form, mirrored toe and heel as determined by a center line extending the full length of the putter as shown in the top view. The Putter head has forward weighting achieved by plotting the center of gravity (COG) of the head as a point and assigning three axis lines. A fourth axis, the longitudinal axis of the shaft extending from the grip and remaining straight is then positioned to intersect with the z-axis of the COG as defined in full description by way of a shaft hole which is determined in the design stage. The COG lies between the face and the intersection of said z-axis by the shaft axis. The elevated rear section helps to raise the overall COG to a height at or above the center of a golf ball during the putting stroke. This results in a putter head whose face is predominately parallel with and facing the ground surface when balanced on it's shaft horizontally suspended so that the putter head can rotate freely.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 6, 2020Publication date: September 9, 2021Inventor: Patrick John O'Hara

Publication number: 20200273385Abstract: A sign or other marking that is illuminated by an LED lamp, e.g., in a vehicle headlamp is described. The sign employs spectral shifting to increase the power or energy reflected by the sign when illuminated by the LED lamp, which has a significant power peak in the blue spectrum. The spectral shifting can be done in a conversion layer on top of a reflective layer. The reflective layer can include quantum dots to increase its efficiency in reflecting light.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 26, 2020Publication date: August 27, 2020Inventors: John O'HARA, J. R.
