  • Publication number: 20240124349
Abstract: Glass and glass ceramic compositions having at least a lithium disilicate crystalline phase, a petalite crystalline phase, and a residual glass phase along with methods of making the glass and glass ceramic compositions are described. The compositions are compatible with conventional rolling and float processes, are transparent or translucent, and have high mechanical strength and fracture resistance. Additionally, processes of 3D forming glass ceramic preforms having the glass ceramic composition discussed to produce glass ceramic articles are described. Further, the compositions are able to be chemically tempered to even higher strength glass ceramics that are useful as large substrates in multiple applications.

  • Publication number: 20050214793
Abstract: The present invention relates to novel ABC1 polypeptides and nucleic acid molecules encoding the same. The invention also relates to recombinant vectors, host cells, and compositions comprising ABC1 polynucleotides, as well as to methods for producing ABC1 polypeptides. The invention also relates to antibodies that bind specifically to ABC1 polypeptides. In addition, the invention relates to methods for increasing cholesterol efflux as well as to methods for increasing ABC1 expression and activity. The present invention further relates to methods for identifying compounds that modulate the expression of ABC1 and methods for detecting the comparative level of ABC1 polypeptides and polynucleotides in a mammalian subject. The present invention also provides kits and compositions suitable for screening compounds to determine the ABC1 expression modulating activity of the compound, as well as kits and compositions suitable to determine whether a compound modulates ABC1-dependent cholesterol efflux.

  • Patent number: 4591953
Abstract: The light comprises a cluster of lamp units (100), pivotally mounted at (6,7), on respective chassis (8) running on a loop track. The lamp units are approximately equidistant from a central axis and illuminate a common patch on the axis. Each chassis (8) is connected to a respective chain (35) which may be driven to move individual chassis (8) along the track, changing the configuration of the cluster. A linkage (26,27,31) enables the lamp unit inclination to be varied and a linkage (12,13,14,16,18) enables the relative positions of a bulb (1) and a concave reflector (10) to vary, thereby varying the beam width. The rollers (18) of each unit roll on a surface of a first common hoop and the rollers (31) on a surface of a second common hoop. The hoops are movable enabling the inclination of beamwidth of all the lamp units to be varied simultaneously, changing the patch range or size.

  • Patent number: 4581689
Abstract: A lamp (5) is secured to the end (4) of a support arm for at least horizontal translational movement, and is pivotable about a vertical axis (10) for azimuth adjustment of the light beams (from lenses 82, 83). To facilitate such horizontal movement by means of a handle (15), the handle is disposed on or adjacent the vertical pivot axis (10). The lamp, which may also be pivotable by means of the handle (15) about a horizontal axis 11, is preferably located substantially entirely on one side of the vertical axis (11).

  • Patent number: 4564892
Abstract: Two concave reflector portions (22a, 22b) confront each other and have narrow ends (14) which overlap. The reflector portions widen from respective beam-emission axes (13) to their wide ends (16). The beam-emission axes are oppositely-directed. The apparatus has beam-emitting apertures (18) at the wide ends. A bulb (24) disposed between the overlapping narrow ends of the reflector portions produces two mutually divergent light beams, by reflection off the reflector portions.
