  • Patent number: 6929407
Abstract: The assembly of a packaged opto-electronic module of a type that comprises an optical subassembly coupled to an LC housing integrally formed within the housing of the module typically results in the optical subassembly being disposed in a location having a gap between a heat sink region of the module and the optical subassembly.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 25, 2003
Date of Patent: August 16, 2005
    Assignee: Agilent Technologies, Inc.
Inventors: Hugh de Lacy, Goncalo Agra Amorim, Christopher John Ord
  • Patent number: 6811413
Abstract: The present invention concerns an electro-optical module assembly, which is capable of being plugged into and removed from a DWDM system. The assembly comprises an electro-optical module with horizontal grooves and vertical slots which when inserted into protrusions disposed on the module mounting device, allow for a “drop and slot” type insertion of the module. The present invention also integrates EMI shielding within the electro-optical module assembly.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 27, 2003
Date of Patent: November 2, 2004
    Assignee: Agilent Technologies, Inc.

  • Publication number: 20040061318
Abstract: An inflation device for storing and releasing pressurized fluid includes a substantially donut shaped cylinder (2) containing the pressurized fluid. An activation system (4) includes a trigger mechanism (6) positioned within a cavity (8) formed by the donut shaped cylinder (2). The cylinder (2) includes at least one puncturing zone (3) in contact with the pressurized fluid, the puncturing zone (3) including a sealing element (33) seated on a valve member inside the puncturing zone (3), the sealing element (33) connected to a puncturing rod (31). When activated, the trigger mechanism (6) actuates the puncturing rod (31), driving the sealing element (33) off the valve member thereby allowing the pressurized fluid to flow out of the cylinder (2) past the sealing element (33) and through the puncturing zone (3).

  • Publication number: 20030185525
Abstract: The assembly of a packaged opto-electronic module of a type that comprises an optical subassembly coupled to an LC housing integrally formed within the housing of the module typically results in the optical subassembly being disposed in a location having a gap between a heat sink region of the module and the optical subassembly thereby causing the disadvantage of inefficient heat removal from the optical subassembly. The present invention obviates or at least mitigates the above disadvantage by freeing the LC housing from the housing of the module thus enabling the optical subassembly to be disposed in thermal contact with the heat sink region of the module.

  • Publication number: 20030171013
Abstract: The present invention concerns an electro-optical module assembly, which is capable of being plugged into and removed from a DWDM system. The assembly comprises an electro-optical module (1) with horizontal grooves (6) and vertical slots (7) which when inserted into protrusions (22) disposed on the module mounting means (20), allow for a “drop and slot” type insertion of the module. The present invention also integrates EMI shielding within the electro-optical module assembly.
