  • Patent number: 5564894
Abstract: A partition inserter has a vacuum assembly which pivots out to contact an end partition in a stack, pivots back to remove the partition, and then moves downwardly to release the partition. The positioning of the vacuum assembly is controlled by a set of cams and a cam follower for controlling the horizontal position of the vacuum assembly and a third cam and cam follower for controlling the vertical position of the vacuum assembly. The vacuum assembly has an upper set of cups which move down with the assembly to lower the partition. The upper vacuum cups are also adjustably mounted to the assembly so that the same assembly may be used for partitions of various sizes. When the partition is released from the vacuum cups, the partition is guided downwardly by a pair of conveyors to a set of shooter wheels. The conveyor and shooter wheels are mounted to a set of plates which are adjustably mounted to the frame of the apparatus.

  • Patent number: 4887414
Abstract: A packaging machine for packaging containers such as bottles in a carton. Adjacent rows of bottles are conveyed downstream parallel to the downstream movement of spaced open-ended carton blanks. A separate conveying means in conjunction with stationary guides moves bottles diagonally downstream to the carton blanks. Wedge-shaped bottle separators are carried by the separate conveying means adjacent the carton blank moving means and engage adjacent bottles to separate the bottles into groups, which are then guided onto the blanks through the open ends thereof. The separators travel at the same speed as the carton blanks.

  • Patent number: 4174843
Abstract: A dynamic seal has a primary and secondary seal ring connected in series ween first and second fluid zones, with an intermediate fluid zone between the seal rings. When leakage occurs between the first and intermediate zones, the pressure in the intermediate zone builds up through a feedback system increasing the force on the primary seal rings. Furthermore, leakage through the primary seal also takes place creating another force that also provides a tighter seal. In addition, the primary and secondary seal rings have additional variable and feedback controls for adjusting the force on the dynamic seal.

  • Patent number: 3998361
Abstract: A hollow, cylindrical, vertically elongated body has an open top and a closed bottom. A cap is detachably securable to the top of the body to seal the interior to a spray dispenser with a spray head is located in the cap. A manually operable pump is attached to the body so as to allow the contents of the body to be pressurized. A protective hood is attached to the cap, and surrounds the dispenser head, so as to prevent the dispenser from being accidentally operated.
