Patent number: 12206799Abstract: Techniques are disclosed relating to securely authenticating communicating devices. In various embodiments, a computing device receives, via a network connection with a network, a first certificate for a first public key pair of the computing device. The computing device provides the first certificate to an offline accessory device and receives a second certificate for a second public key pair maintained by the offline accessory device. The computing device performs a verification of the second certificate and, responsive to the verification being successful, interacts with the offline accessory device. In some embodiments, prior to providing the first certificate, the computing device determines an ordering in which the first and second certificates are to be exchanged by the first computing device and the offline accessory device, and the first certificate is provided to the offline accessory device in accordance with the determined ordering.Type: GrantFiled: June 3, 2022Date of Patent: January 21, 2025Assignee: Apple Inc.Inventors: Steven A. Myers, Kyle C. Brogle, Sean P. Devlin, Edwin W. Foo, John T. Perry

Patent number: 12144470Abstract: A method for loading a stack of interfolded paper units into a dispenser includes inserting a stack of interfolded paper units into an interior volume of the dispenser through a dispenser opening. The dispenser has a lid having a dispensing aperture, as well as a movable platen that has a paper-engaging surface, and which is urged upwardly toward the dispenser opening. A bottom wall of the dispenser is disposed opposite the dispenser opening, and a lock of the dispenser is selectively engageable with the platen. The stack is placed on the platen and a downward force is exerted on the top surface of the stack to thereby push the platen downward until the platen has been engaged by the lock and has reached a locked position in which the paper-engaging surface has an oblique orientation relative to the bottom wall of the dispenser.Type: GrantFiled: March 23, 2021Date of Patent: November 19, 2024Assignee: ESSITY HYGIENE AND HEALTH AKTIEBOLAGInventors: Magnus Falk, John P. Devlin, Peter McNulty, Jeffrey Mekler, Nathan Rollins

Patent number: 12042099Abstract: A method for loading a stack of individual paper units into a dispenser includes inwardly pushing on a pair of oppositely disposed end portions of respective lateral walls of the dispenser, thereby releasing a drawer of the dispenser for sliding movement of that drawer relative to a remainder of the dispenser. The drawer includes first and second, oppositely disposed sidewalls, a bottom wall, and an arcuate front wall that has a dispensing aperture. The bottom wall of the drawer extends between the first and second sidewalls of the drawer, and the sidewalls of the drawer define an open end of the drawer opposite the bottom wall and, jointly with the bottom wall and arcuate front wall, defines a storage volume of the drawer. The drawer is slid outwardly relative to a remainder of the dispenser to thereby expose the first and second sidewalls and bottom wall of the drawer.Type: GrantFiled: August 24, 2021Date of Patent: July 23, 2024Assignee: ESSITY HYGIENE AND HEALTH AKTIEBOLAGInventors: Catherine Hill Kunda, Magnus Falk, John P. Patent number: 9360155Abstract: A microphone is mounted to apparatus in order to receive sound from a sound source. The apparatus has a microphone clamp to secure different microphones to a variety of musical instruments and other sound sources and may be used to directly mount a microphone to a variety of clamping surfaces. The mounting apparatus incorporates a dual jaw design to allow for easy, fast, and secure mounting to the clamping surface. The apparatus supports a quick release mechanism for easy and fast engagement and disengagement of the dual jaws, consequently reducing time needed to securely clamp and remove the mounting apparatus with the clamping surface. The release mechanism may include a dowel release having a hole through which the jaw stud is situated. The hole has two curved surfaces so that one of jaws may be moved without turning the jaw stud when the dowel release is depressed.Type: GrantFiled: January 23, 2013Date of Patent: June 7, 2016Assignee: Shure Acquisition Holdings, Inc.Inventors: Jon Caleb Halverson, Walter Timothy Harwood, Paul Mark Jacobs, Martin K.
