Publication number: 20210374295Abstract: Disclosed are methods and interfaces for depicting a plurality of properties of a material, such as a haptic coating. In some aspects, gauges each expressing a property of the material may be displayed. Each property that collectively may describe the material may be defined along a gradient each of two opposing characteristics. Each of the physical properties may have an interrelationship with one or more of the other physical properties, such that when a particular value or quantity of one physical property is chosen, the other physical properties are constrained to a certain degree. The example gauges disclosed herein provide an interface that allows a user to easily understand these constraints and also allows for user friendly and intuitive manipulation of desired physical properties.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 18, 2019Publication date: December 2, 2021Inventors: Angela M. Beck, David D. Steppan, Chetan Ghosalkar, Edward P. Squiller, Andrew Stadler, Currie Crookston, Kurt E. Best, John P. Forsythe, James R. Charron

Publication number: 20210097211Abstract: Disclosed are methods of producing a graphical depiction of a predicted value of a property of a material. In accordance with the method, a processing unit generates a plot defining a geometric shape and comprising a plurality of points arranged in a matrix, each of the points defining a value for at least two variables and a predicted value of a property of the material. A visual representation of the predicted value of the property of the material for at least some of the plurality of points in a range of indicia is displayed on an output device. The range of indicia represents a range of predicted values of the property. A pointer on the visual representation is displayed on the output device.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 8, 2019Publication date: April 1, 2021Inventors: Angela M. Beck, David D. Steppan, John P. Forsythe, James R. Charron, Edward P. Squiller, Kurt E. Best, Andrew Stadler, Currie Crookston

Patent number: 4813466Abstract: An improved support track assembly for both protecting and improving the flotation and mobility of the resilient wheels of a vehicle is disclosed herein that comprises both a manually operable retention assembly for fastening the track into an endless belt around the vehicle wheel, and a track storage reel that conveniently positions the track under the wheel and in alignment therewith prior to installation. The improved support track is formed from a plurality of track members that are pivotally interconnected by means of connector pins, and the retention assembly is formed from a retaining pin having a first end that is transversely insertable into a track member in a connector-pin capturing position, and a second pin formed from a resilient loop of spring steel. When the retaining pin is inserted into a pin-capturing position, the terminus of the loop is resiliently biased in a latching position.Type: GrantFiled: December 17, 1986Date of Patent: March 21, 1989Assignee: Vehicle Systems Development CorporationInventors: Robert W. Patent number: 3933258Abstract: A vehicular transportation system and apparatus therefor is disclosed herein wherein small electrically driven passenger vehicles are carried as a group in a transporter or carrier vehicle. Extendable ramps are carried on the transporter vehicle which may be deployed from either end of the vehicle body for loading and unloading the passenger vehicles along a pair of parallel storage decks. Locking mechanism selectively secures each passenger vehicle in a storage space on the transporter vehicle while a separate conduit system for conducting conditioned air to the stored passenger vehicle is provided between the roof of the passenger vehicle and the transporter vehicle body. The transporter vehicle and electrically driven passenger vehicles are adapted to operate as a combined unit, substantially reducing fuel consumption, air pollution, and congestion, or independently as separate elements, on traffic arteries such as highways or expressways or surface streets.Type: GrantFiled: January 2, 1974Date of Patent: January 20, 1976Inventors: Robert W. Forsyth, John P. Forsyth
