Patent number: 11770996Abstract: Modular meter units for distributing particulate material from an applicator can be configured to combine with each other without the use of tools to provide specific meter assembly lengths based on desired flow rates. In one aspect, modular meter unit housings with interlocking features can provide build options for assembling different sized meter assemblies. The modular meter unit housings can allow stacking and connecting multiple adjacent meter units to make a meter assembly of a particular length/volume/flow rate. Each meter unit housing can have a longitudinal bore that opens through opposing end walls and define a cylindrical cavity or chamber that can receive a cylindrical/tubular sleeve or liner. Matching openings on opposite top/bottom walls of the modular meter unit housing can align with openings of the liner to define an inlet and outlet for the meter unit.Type: GrantFiled: February 3, 2020Date of Patent: October 3, 2023Assignee: CNH INDUSTRIAL AMERICA LLCInventors: Nicholas R. Pederson, Jeffrey S. Martin, John P. Honermann, John P. Kennedy

Patent number: 11512992Abstract: A meter wheel system for a dry agricultural product applicator can include a bank of meter assemblies made from modular meter units. In one aspect, each meter assembly in the bank can be made from modular meter units. The modular meter units can be connected in a stacked configuration to provide a specific overall length to achieve a corresponding flow rate and then banked together to form the system. A bank of meter assemblies made from modular meter units can be secured between top and bottom plates. The plates can be bolted to each other and have receptacles that receive protrusions from top and bottom surfaces of the meter assemblies. Lengths of meter assemblies can be picked based on particular delivery rates for the section it feeds. An overall length of each meter assembly can be a multiple of a length of the modular meter unit.Type: GrantFiled: February 3, 2020Date of Patent: November 29, 2022Assignee: CNH INDUSTRIAL AMERICA LLCInventors: Rex L. Ruppert, Nicholas R. Pederson, Jeffrey S. Martin, John P. Honermann, John P. Kennedy

Patent number: 11185880Abstract: An apparatus and method are provided for removably mounting an agricultural product sprayer, having at least one foldable boom, on an agricultural product applicator having a chassis adapted for removably receiving the agricultural product sprayer, by attaching the foldable boom to a skid adapted for operative, removable mounting on the applicator chassis. The skid further has a boom cradle adapted for supporting the foldable boom in a folded position when the skid is mounted on the chassis, and when the skid is separated from the chassis of the agricultural applicator. The boom cradle is selectively movable between an inboard and an outboard position of the cradle to facilitate operation of the product applicator, and also to facilitate mounting the sprayer on, and removing the sprayer from the chassis of the applicator.Type: GrantFiled: October 31, 2017Date of Patent: November 30, 2021Assignee: CNH Industrial America LLCInventors: Rex L. Ruppert, John P. Honermann

Patent number: 10750654Abstract: A captured hardware system secures a mounting plate of skid-mounted product application equipment to a frame of the applicator, utilizing a mounting bolt passing through a hole in the skid mounting plate, a mounting bar and an extended T-nut. The T-nut has a bar-shaped body that extends beyond an exposed edge of the mounting bar to facilitate aligning a threaded hole in the T-nut with a hole in the mounting bar, when the T-nut is slidingly inserted into a slot in the mounting bar for securing the skid to the frame with the mounting bolt.Type: GrantFiled: September 14, 2017Date of Patent: August 25, 2020Assignee: CNH Industrial America LLCInventors: John P. Patent number: 7784714Abstract: A remote boom lock assembly is provided to secure a boom assembly supported on an agricultural vehicle or implement. The boom lock assembly is generally configured to move between a locked position and an unlocked position relative to the boom assembly as it is seated in a boom cradle structure mounted on the agricultural vehicle. The boom lock assembly includes a boom lock element mounted to the boom cradle structure, and an actuator assembly configured to selectively move the boom lock element from a locked position to an unlocked position. A remote switch is employed to control operation of the actuator assembly. The boom lock assembly further includes a spring configured to bias the boom lock element toward the locked position.Type: GrantFiled: October 31, 2008Date of Patent: August 31, 2010Assignee: CNH America LLCInventors: John P Honermann, Matthew W Gunlogson
