  • Patent number: 4502876
Abstract: A cartridge for use in rebreathing apparatus comprising a filtering device for removing carbon dioxide, a pair of flexible containers (one disposed within the other and in fluid communication with each other through a restricted opening), a coaxial connector for fluidly connecting the cartridge to a rebreathing apparatus, means for maintaining a separation between the pair of flexible connectors and a metallic shield disposed in the flow path of exhaled gases for removing moisture.

  • Patent number: 4451986
Abstract: An ullage gauge for directly and accurately measuring the ullage of a cargo tank of a vessel such as an oil tanker without the necessity of opening the hatch. The gauge is comprised of a calibrated ullage tape which is supplied from a winder reel positioned within a sealed chamber atop the deck of the tanker and communicating with the cargo tank, the winder reel being rotated by a winder reel handle placed exterior of said sealed chamber. The sealed chamber includes a view window which allows direct observation of the calibrated surface of the ullage tape as well as direct observation of the rising cargo within the cargo tank. A float attached to the ullage tape is of sufficient size and weight that once contact of the float with the surface of the cargo is made, such contact is felt by the operator through the winder reel handle.

  • Patent number: 4134101
Abstract: Transistorized electronic timer circuits installed in motorized vehicles indicate the running time of the devices such as automobiles, trucks, motorcycles and the like which have a factory recommended servicing cycle. Because of the delicate nature of the transistors and timer devices and the presence of transient noises in automobile electrical systems, protective circuits were developed to prevent timer failures which might result in failure to meet engine service requirements or, in the case of newer vehicles, emission tests, etc.

  • Patent number: 4099332
Abstract: An ullage gage for directly and accurately measuring the ullage of a cargo tank of a vessel such as an oil tanker without the necessity of opening the tank. The gage is comprised of a calibrated sword which is affixed to the underside of a cover plate which also contains a viewport for viewing the sword. The cover plate sealingly covers a service opening in the tank. The first calibration mark on the sword coincides with the underside of the deck of the vessel and has a value equal to the actual vertical distance from the lip of the ullage hatch to the underside of the deck at a point adjacent the gage. An adjustable means is provided to adjust the sword with relation to the cover plate to compensate for different deck thicknesses and/or deck camber of the vessel.

  • Patent number: 4059202
Abstract: An easily removable cover plate for sealingly closing a service opening or the like through a deck of a vessel into a cargo tank. The cover plate has a plurality of latch means spaced about its periphery which are adjustable without disassembly to compensate for different deck thicknesses with which the cover plate may be used.
