Patent number: 10391716Abstract: An apparatus and related method of utilizing articulating vacuum plates to manipulate a film or polymeric sheet and form a three dimensional article is provided. The apparatus can be in the form of an articulating vacuum plate system which includes one or more plates or mold parts that are configured to support a sheet, constructed for example, from a polymeric film, in a two dimensional configuration or a three dimensional configuration in a first mode. The apparatus is constructed so that the plates and/or mold parts can articulate or move so as to reconfigure the sheet from a generally planar configuration into a second three dimensional configuration in a second mode for further forming, optionally while the plates and/or mold parts apply vacuum to the sheet while the plates and/or mold parts articulate, so that the plates and/or mold parts bend or otherwise manipulate the configuration and shape of the sheet.Type: GrantFiled: December 22, 2016Date of Patent: August 27, 2019Assignee: Grotown VI, LLCInventors: John P. Mankowski, William J. Kuiper

Publication number: 20030077999Abstract: A roof ridge ventilator with filtering device to be installed under a cap shingle includes a one piece cover member of an elongated shape including a pair of flaps, each flap having one upper surface over which cap shingles are secured and also having downwardly facing lower surfaces, a pair of vents respectively secured to the lower surface of the cover member flaps, each vent including at least one set of shielded louvers having openings for deflecting air flow while maintaining a minimum free area for air passage such that the air flowing therethrough is substantially reduced in velocity to limit the infiltration of foreign matter. Longitudinally spaced supports extend substantially vertically to permit nailing onto the roof such that the vent does not collapse during installation and such that the net free area remains intact. A band of fibrous material positioned inboard of the vent to further prevent foreign matter for entering the attic.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 9, 2002Publication date: April 24, 2003Inventor: John P. Patent number: 5096008Abstract: A rotatable stand-up wheelchair or invalid mobility device which includes a main drive chassis having front and rear wheels. A means for raising and lowering the seat and back portion of the wheelchair raises and lowers the invalid from a substantially seated position on the seat to a substantially standing position supported by a foot plate attached to the base of the wheelchair. Stability of the wheelchair device is maintained by two triangular wheel configurations intercepting at their apex. In operation, the invalid can move while standing in such a fashion as the foot plate may be lowered to a close proximity to the ground so that the invalids hand approximates the level of a hand height of a non-handicapped person. This simulated normal motion and enables direct contact with countertops and other work surfaces.Type: GrantFiled: September 24, 1990Date of Patent: March 17, 1992Assignee: Jericho CorporationInventor: John P. Patent number: 5050489Abstract: A roof ventilator (10) comprises a contoured, substantially rounded cover member (12) including a nailing tab and flange configuration to allow use of the ventilator on roofs and roof ridges of different angles and pitches. A vent (14) is located in the cover member (12), and the vent has openings (16) to permit air circulation through the roof or roof ridge, and includes weepage openings (24) at the bottom of the vent to permit any collected liquids to drain therethrough. The shape of the vent is designed to deflect air flow over the roof ventilator, thereby substantially preventing foreign particle entry through the roof ventilator into the building.Type: GrantFiled: June 15, 1990Date of Patent: September 24, 1991Inventor: John P. Mankowski

Patent number: 4903445Abstract: A roof ridge ventilator (10) comprises a one-piece cover member (12) including a pair of flaps (14) and a hinge (16) unitary with the flaps to permit pivotal movement therebetween in order to allow use of the ventilator on roof ridges of different angles and pitches, the cover member being designed to be placed under the standard cap shingle such that the shingle extends over the cover member and down the top edges of longitudinally spaced outer support walls. A pair of vents (22) are located below the pair of cover member flaps (14), and each vent has openings (26) to permit air circulation through the roof ridge. Each vent (22) also has an upwardly projecting outer wall angled toward the cover member, and including weepage openings at the bottom of the outer wall spaced between the outer support walls to permit collected liquids to drain therethrough.Type: GrantFiled: January 9, 1989Date of Patent: February 27, 1990Inventor: John P. Mankowski

Patent number: 4676147Abstract: A roof ridge ventilator (10) comprises a one piece cover member (12) including a pair of flaps (14) and a hinge (16) unitary with the flaps to permit pivotal movement therebetween in order to allow use of the ventilator on roof ridges of different angles, the cover member being designed to be placed underneath a standard cap shingle (20). A pair of vents (22) are located below the pair of cover member flaps (14), and each vent has openings (24) to permit air circulation through the roof ridge. Each vent (22) also has an interior baffle structure (26) that deflects the air flow to limit entry of foreign particles through the roof ridge. The ventilator easily accomplishes the necessary air flow while providing an attractive, nearly undetectable roof ridge ventilator.Type: GrantFiled: July 17, 1985Date of Patent: June 30, 1987Inventor: John P. Mankowski
