  • Patent number: 9351571
Abstract: A connection assembly is disclosed for an ice maker that includes a base having a rail and a cabinet assembly having a glide. The glide slides onto the rail to removably connect the base and the cabinet assembly while aligning the cabinet assembly vertically and horizontally relative to the base. Preferably, the rail and glide have complementary geometries wherein the base and rail fit together such that the complementary geometries limit the relative vertical and horizontal movement of the rail and the glide to each other. In alternative configurations, the base may have a glide and the cabinet may have a rail. The connection assembly may also include a stop limiting the relative linear movement between the rail and the glide, further assuring proper alignment of the cabinet and the base. The connection assembly may also include a locking mechanism limiting relative linear movement of the base and the cabinet.

  • Publication number: 20140096558
Abstract: Disclosed are methods and devices for sealing components and areas of the food zone of an ice machine, including systems that transport fluids and devices used for the production and harvest of ice. Due to the form, fit, and function of food zone components, gaps or pathways may exist in that unwanted fluids or solids may enter the food zone. Pathways for contamination to enter a food zone include: refrigeration tubing, water supply, drain tubing, electrical connections, and devices for antimicrobial protection, automatic cleaning systems, ice harvest assist, and transportation of ice from the ice making surface to the storage bin. Methods and devices of creating contaminant-proof barriers are disclosed, including: sealing, trapping, gasketing and/or creating a positive pressure within the food zone, alone or in combination. The methods and devices can be used in a systematic arrangement to create an essentially contaminant-proof ice machine food zone.

  • Patent number: 8483646
Abstract: A technique for cancelling out target IM2 components in a wireless receiver's mixer output is disclosed. A differential RF signal and a differential local oscillator (LO) signal are mixed by a mixer to demodulate the RF signal. A first common node signal is generated between a first resistor and a second resistor coupled across the mixer's differential output terminals. A second common node signal is generated between a third resistor and a fourth resistor coupled across the differential output terminals, where a capacitor is coupled between the second common node and a power supply terminal. The second common node signal provides a stable reference signal for IM2 components above a certain frequency. The two common node signals are subtracted to create a difference signal. The difference signal is scaled by a scaling factor obtained during calibration. The scaled difference signal is coupled to the mixer output to offset IM2 distortion.

  • Patent number: 8373503
Abstract: A mixer in an RF demodulator includes a transconductance amplifier that converts an RF input voltage (Vin), applied to the base of a first bipolar transistor, to a first output current. The first output current contains third order intermodulation (IM3) products. An IM3 canceller is connected in parallel with the transconductance amplifier. The base of a second bipolar transistor in the IM3 canceller is coupled to the DC component of Vin, and the AC component of Vin is coupled to the emitter of the second bipolar transistor, such that the currents though the first bipolar transistor and the currents through the second bipolar transistor change oppositely. The collectors of the transistors are coupled together. The values of components in the IM3 canceller are set so that the current generated by the IM3 canceller substantially cancels IM3 distortion in the first current or other current generated in a demodulator of Vin.

  • Patent number: 7832219
Abstract: An ice barrier and an ice making machine having an ice barrier is provided in some embodiments, wherein the ice barrier is movable between a first orientation in which liquid water from an ice-forming surface is directed into the liquid receptacle, and a second orientation in which the ice barrier blocks access of ice from the ice-forming surface to locations in which ice is trapped between the ice barrier and an adjacent surface. Also, a method of producing ice in an ice making machine is provided in some embodiments, wherein a barrier diverts a flow of liquid water received from the ice-forming surface away from an ice collection bin, and wherein the barrier is moved to an orientation in which the barrier diverts ice toward the ice collection bin and also blocks access of ice to positions trapped between the barrier and an adjacent surface.
