  • Patent number: 5211503
Abstract: A barrier gate for a longitudinal highway barrier of the type having first and second axially aligned barrier segments separated by a gap includes two elongated gates. These gates are mounted by rails and wheels for axial movement between an opened position in which the gates reveal the gap, and a closed position, in which the gates close the gap. The gates are designed to fit over and straddle the adjacent barrier segments, and are provided with a sidewall configuration that matches the shape of the barrier segments to eliminate snagging surfaces.

  • Patent number: 5088874
Abstract: A transporter for a length of highway barriers includes a series of barrier transporting units, each having at least one pair of wheels positioned to straddle a length of highway barriers, at least one engaging device configured to engage one of the barriers, and at least one lifting device coupled to the engaging device to lift the engaging device and the engaged barriers. Articulating couplings interconnect axially adjacent transporting units to form a train configured to straddle the length of highway barriers such as the train can be moved over a length of highway barriers to be transported. Two tractors are connected to the train, one at each end of the train in line with the train to move the train. This transporter can be used by driving it over a length of highway barriers, using the engaging and lifting devices to lift the barriers, and then driving the transporter and the engaged barriers to a new location.

  • Patent number: 4869775
Abstract: A dispenser for applying pressure sensitive tabs to an underlying article, such as a sheet of glass or mirror, includes a first tape reel for dispensing a roll of carrier tape therefrom and a second tape reel for winding up the spent carrier tape after the tabs have been removed. A plurality of guide rolls are mounted in the dispenser for maintaining a predetermined tension on the tape and a depositing mechanism, including a bracket for guiding the tape and a nip roll or plunger, is provided for removing the tabs from the tape and for applying the tabs to the article automatically and in a spaced, controlled manner. The dispenser is preferably held in a fixed position and the article moved thereunder to apply the tabs to the article automatically without the need of a workman.

  • Patent number: 4624601
Abstract: A transferable roadway lane dividers which consist of individual sections hingedly joined together. The lane dividers are picked up from one side of the lane by a transfer device mounted beneath a vehicle or trailer, travelling along the center of the lane, and are slid along the transfer device and one continuously deposited on the roadway at the desired new position on the other side of the lane.

  • Patent number: 4500225
Abstract: A roadway lane divider comprises a plurality of interconnected divider sections each having a T-shaped upper end. Rollers of a mobile transfer apparatus are adapted for engagement under a pair of longitudinally extending undercut bearing surfaces, defined on the upper end of each divider section, to lift and suspend the divider sections as a unit on a first side of the apparatus, move them serpentine-like across the apparatus and deposit the divider sections on a second, opposite side of the apparatus.

  • Patent number: 4498803
Abstract: A plurality of closely spaced and pivotally interconnected divider sections form a roadway lane divider and barrier. The divider sections are adapted to be lifted and transferred on a roadway as a unit. A plurality of releasable locking members are reciprocally mounted on respective pairs of the divider sections to either lock them together against relative pivotal movement or to selectively release the locking members to permit the divider sections to freely pivot relative to each other when they are lifted for transfer purposes.
