  • Patent number: 5156166
Abstract: A cantilever mounted table for an X-ray patient undergoing procedures requiring tilting the table head to foot or canting the table about its longitudinal axis allows a medical team free axis to one side and an end of the patient, and provides an improved collision sensing switch in the event the table stikes an obstruction below.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 22, 1990
Date of Patent: October 20, 1992
    Assignee: John K. Grady

  • Patent number: 4852841
Abstract: A device for clamping the edge of a diagnostic table top includes a C-shaped clamping block which engages the side, top and bottom surfaces at the edge of a table. A fixed jaw engages one of the top and bottom surfaces and an articulatable jaw engages the opposite table surface. The articulatable jaw includes an outer fixed plate and an inner movable plate connected by a pair of dual pivot links at opposite ends of the plates and an activating mechanism including an axially-rotatable vertical shaft with an offset pin. Rotation of the shaft by a lever arm attached thereto causes the pin to push horizontally on the inner plate. The dual pivot links transform the horizontal motion from the pin to a combined horizontal and vertical motion of the inner plate with respect to the outer plate about a circular arc.

  • Patent number: 4761805
Abstract: In medical X-ray apparatus including a stand mounting an X-ray tube and two X-ray receptors such as an image intensifier and a film exchanger, the two X-ray receptors are mounted on a common frame pivoted to present either receptor at the image plane of the X-ray tube. Additionally the two receptors slide on the frame and are linked by a bell crank for coordinated rotation and sliding movement which restores their common center of gravity to its initial locus as one receptor is interchanged for the other. Balance of the receptors with the X-ray tube on the frame is thereby maintained.
