  • Patent number: 10350852
Abstract: A releasable adhesive system for joining a first surface to a second surface. The system includes a primary material having a first portion including at least one first-portion molecule configured to be positioned parallel with at least one first-surface molecule of the first surface, and a second portion, opposite the first portion, including at least one second-portion molecule configured to be positioned parallel with at least second surfaced one molecule of the second surface. The first surface molecule, positioned parallel with the first-surface molecule, is configured to maintain bonds between the first portion and the first surface up to one or more pre-determined three scenarios, such as pre-determined shear, pull, and peel forces being exerted on the first surface. The second portion can function similarly with respect to the second surface.

  • Patent number: 9935412
Abstract: A product and an electrical connector assembly includes a first component and a second component. The first component includes a plurality of inner walls spaced from each other to define outer boundaries of respective openings. The first component also includes a first electrical interface. The second component includes a plurality of retention members each having an outer surface and a projection extending from the outer surface of each of the retention members. The outer surface of the retention members is configured to elastically deform along the respective inner walls when inserted into the respective openings such that part of the outer surface of the retention members remains in contact with the respective inner walls when the second component is secured to the first component. The second component also includes a second electrical interface that engages the first electrical interface when the second component is secured to the first component.

  • Patent number: 9921582
Abstract: An automated guided vehicle system may include a plurality of automated guided vehicles arranged in a predetermined relationship with respect to each other for supporting a payload. Each of the automated guided vehicles has a plurality of rollers extending from the automated guided vehicle and engaging a ground surface. Furthermore, at least one locator extends from the automated guided vehicle and engages the payload. Each of the automated guided vehicles also has an on-board controller arranged within a housing thereof, with one on-board controller acting as a master controller and the remaining of the on-board controllers acting as slave controllers. The master controller communicates with the slave controllers to maintain position and speed control of each automated guided vehicle in both a lateral and a longitudinal direction. Furthermore, the slave controllers send feedback information to the master controller.

  • Publication number: 20170136698
Abstract: Methods and devices for manufacturing paneled structures are provided. The methods include manufacturing a frame structure by additive manufacturing methods and scanning a surface of the frame structure to determine whether there is more than a nominal surface deviation at a location where a panel will be disposed. When there is more than a nominal surface deviation, the methods also include generating a panel to be disposed at the location of the frame structure, wherein the panel has an engagement surface that is complimentary to the surface deviation.

  • Patent number: 6644637
Abstract: A reconfigurable fixture for workpieces is disclosed. It utilizes a flat surface magnetic chuck with modular workpiece supporting, locating and clamping elements that are carefully located on it and held by magnetic attraction to it. These elements are precisely located to hold the workpiece in spaced relation to the chuck surface. Some locating elements are mechanically fixed to the chuck for securing the workpiece from transverse movement on the chuck surface. Preferably, each of the supporting, locating and clamping members are fixed to separate steel bases for magnetic attraction to the chuck. Each base may also carry its own hydraulic actuator for height adjustment of a support element or for height adjustment and closure of a clamping element. These modular elements can be selected from a storage magazine and located on a chuck by numerically controlled mechanisms.
