  • Patent number: 8799237
Abstract: Various examples are provided for identification disambiguation in databases. In one example, among others, a system includes an approximate structural equivalence (ASE) analyzer. The ASE analyzer can obtain a set of records from a database; determine a knowledge homogeneity score (KHS) for a pair of records in the set of records; and determine a condition of ASE for the pair of records based upon the KHS and a predefined KHS threshold. In another example, a method can determine a plurality of references shared by at least two records in a set of records; and a weighting value for each shared reference. A KHS may then be determined for each pair of records in the set of records based upon a reference shared by the pair of records and the weighting value corresponding to the shared reference.

  • Publication number: 20130224716
Abstract: The present invention discloses a cloud-based multimedia teaching system, a development method and an interaction method thereof. In the present invention, a teacher produces a course in the Abode Flash format and uploads it from a client computer to a multimedia teaching system via the cloud; the multimedia teaching system communicates with a back-end server via a server framework in the Flash Remoting technology and establishes the course in the back-end server; the user interface of the multimedia teaching system contains a plurality of buttons linked to the courses. When a user clicks on a button of the user interface to select a course, the multimedia teaching system retrieves related data of the course from the back-end server via the server framework in the Flash Remoting technology and presents the data on the user interface thereof.

  • Publication number: 20100280853
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for providing a transportation route to a user are provided. Travel information from the user, a plurality of transportation route goals ranked in a specified order by the user, and attribute information of a plurality of transit modes from a transit information system are received by the central system. An optimized transportation route is determined for the user through a correlation of the plurality of ranked transportation route goals and attribute information that corresponds to the received travel information. The transportation route comprises one or more of the plurality of transit modes. The optimized transportation route is transmitted to the user.

  • Patent number: 5875630
Abstract: A hydraulic drive assembly includes a variable displacement pump fluidly connected in a closed loop circuit with a motor for driving an ancillary device, such as a fan. An auxiliary pump can be operatively connected to the pump, the motor and a reservoir for replenishing fluid losses in the closed loop circuit. An auxiliary circuit connected to the pump has a recirculating passage fluidly connected to the closed loop circuit downstream of the motor to reduce the necessary reservoir volume. A method for smoothly and continuously adjusting the output of the pump to drive the ancillary device is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 5344484
Abstract: An isocyanate bonded wood composite, such as a doorskin, comprising about 95% to about 99% by weight wood fiber, about 1% to about 4% by weight of an organic isocyanate and 0% to about 2% by weight of a wax, and its method of manufacture, are disclosed. The isocyanate bonded wood composite is manufactured by admixing the ingredients, then pressing the admixed ingredients at a temperature of about 200.degree. F. to about 320.degree. F., for a sufficient time and at a sufficient pressure, to provide an isocyanate bonded wood composite having a density of about 0.9 g/cc to about 1.1 g/cc, and that demonstrates improved porosity and adhesive properties.

  • Patent number: 5265566
Abstract: A crankshaft for a two stroke engine requiring a seal disc on each crank pin is formed by forging, machining and heat treating without a seal disc and then applying a two part seal disc to each crank pin. The two parts of the seal disc have a mating interface in line with the center of the crank pin and a semi-circular recess in each part surrounds half of the crank pin. The parts are dimensioned to effect an interference fit on the crank pin when assembled with sufficient force. The parts are secured together by laser welding, bolts or by adhesive bonding. In the case of welding, the parts are assembled with dowels normal to the interface to maintain the proper alignment during welding and to reinforce the strength of the final assembly.

  • Patent number: 4857624
Abstract: Improved phenolic-modified rosin ester resins are disclosed. The phenolic-modified rosin ester resins comprise the reaction product of substantially unsaturated rosins with a dienophile, a phenolic compound and a formaldehyde-containing compound, which product is then esterified. The resulting composition is useful in vehicles for publication gravure printing inks, as well as in the printing inks themselves. Printing inks fabricated in accordance with the invention employing these improved phenolic-modified rosin ester resins provide prints of superior quality.
