  • Patent number: 7056595
Abstract: A magnetic ribbon or sheet is coated with an electrical insulator prior to formation of a magnetic implement. Manufacture of the magnetic implement is accomplished in a single process without need for co-winding magnetic and insulator ribbons. Thermal property differences between the magnetic material and the insulator operate during heat treatment to enhance magnetic property modification of the implement.

Date of Patent: June 6, 2006
    Assignee: Metglas, Inc.
Inventors: Ryusuke Hasegawa, John P. Webb
  • Publication number: 20040214539
Abstract: Briefly, in accordance with one embodiment of the invention, a network interface card or the like for a wireless local area network may include a non-volatile memory in which a table of parameters for operation in one or several countries may be stored. The table may specify how the network interface card is to perform in multiple countries or regulatory domains so that the network interface card may adapt to operate in multiple countries, thereby allowing a network interface card manufacturer or vendor to use a single stock keeping unit for the network interface card in one or more countries.

  • Patent number: 5676468
Abstract: A bearing includes a first race in operational contact with a shaft, a second race in operational contact with the first race, and a third race in operational contact with the second race. The first, second and third races cooperate to define an aperture therethrough to the shaft. A connector is disposed through the aperture to functionally interlink the first race, the second race and the shaft to insure that the first race and the second race rotate substantially with the shaft. In operation, the first and second races define a first bearing surface that accommodates angular displacements of the shaft, and the second and third races define a second bearing surface that accommodates axial and rotational movements of the shaft.
