Publication number: 20240152844Abstract: Various computer-implemented methods for utilizing a modified upper confidence bound (UCB) in an agent-simulator environment in well placement planning for oil fields are disclosed herein. A set of well placement sequences for placing well in a geographical region may be received, where each well placement sequent defines a sequence of multiple oil wells to be placed within the geographical region. A computer-implemented simulation may be executed on each of the well placement sequences to determine, for each of the well placement sequences, a reward based upon a calculated hydrocarbon recovery and a cost of the calculated hydrocarbon recovery. The well placement sequences may be iteratively selected for the computer-implemented simulations using the modified UCB algorithm and based upon the rewards determined for each of the plurality of well placement sequences.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 9, 2024Publication date: May 9, 2024Inventors: John Pang, Vishakh Hegde, Joseph Chalupsky

Patent number: 4097899Abstract: Video record player has RF output terminal linked to antenna terminals of a television receiver, and an RF input terminal coupled to antenna lead-in. Player's processing circuits provide respective sound signal and composite video signal outputs during record playback. First oscillator, operating at intercarrier sound frequency (e.g., 4.5 MHz), is subject to frequency modulation by player's sound signal output (when present). Sum of oscillator output and player's composite video signal output (when present) forms modulating signal for an amplitude modulator, which receives carrier waves from second oscillator, operating at selected broadcast picture carrier frequency. A first diode is coupled between modulator output terminal and player's RF output terminal, while second diode is coupled between player's RF input terminal and reference potential point. Normally closed relay provides a conductive path between player's RF input and output terminals when closed.Type: GrantFiled: December 6, 1976Date of Patent: June 27, 1978Assignee: RCA CorporationInventor: John Pang Yu
