  • Patent number: 5624131
Abstract: A cover for an air bag which comprises a lid portion devoid of any weakened portions or lines, and mounting side wall portions having outer and inner ends. • Patent number: 5536543
Abstract: An illuminated plastic lighting of alphanumeric symbols, such as letters, numbers or words, in soft feel buttons is provided, wherein a translucent rigid base portion is covered with a soft opaque plastic. The opaque plastic has the same thickness as a raised protrusion bearing the desired alphanumeric symbol. The opaque plastic coating is applied in a fluid condition to the top level of the alphanumeric symbol, for revealing the alphanumeric symbol through a recess in the opaque elastomeric coating material. A light source is placed at the bottom of the translucent base portion. The soft feel button is specially useful for making lighted buttons and more particularly, for soft feel buttons for automobile dashboards and the like.

  • Patent number: 5498022
Abstract: The basic material from which the steering wheel and the substrate from which a dash board of a motor vehicle are fabricated are colored a predetermined visible color. The dash board and steering wheel each have air bag assemblies mounted therein. The air bag container and air bag gate are also fabricated from a material that has been colored the same visible color as the color of the steering wheel and/or dash board in which the air bag assembly will be mounted. These components are color coordinated during assembly in a motor vehicle. The steering wheel, the dash board and the air bag container are finished or covered with a surface finish material that has the same visible color as the surface being finished so that when the finish material chips off the surface covered by the finish material, such as caused by deployment of the air bag, unsightliness caused by differences in visible color is avoided.
